Vamos Rafa

I think overall Rafa deserved to win yesterdays match. He was clearly the overall better player. His movement was awesome and there was no sign of the knee injury that kept him out of last year and led to that fluke loss to Rosol which has kept people on these baords alive now, even a year after it happened they are going on and on about his loss to Rosol.Does anyone even know what heppened to Rosol at this championship??ONE notable achievement Rosol made after his fluke win over an injured Nadal last year? The answer is an EMPHATIC NO.However Nadal who thrives on competition and aggression fought like a tiger, overcame his injury, clawed his way back onto the tour and has now won almost everything he took part in since his comeback. He has now beaten the likes of Federer,NOvak,DelPo,Ferrer, and Berdych en route to so many titles including a hard court title.WHERE IS LUKAS ROSOL,THE SAVIOUR OF THE FRUSTRATED FEDERER FANS HERE??Anyway all credit to Novak for fighting like his life depended on it,taking it to a 5th set and almost pulling it off.Rafa had to wait for 3 attempts before he could beat the great Federer on his favorite surface at WImbledon, maybe next year in his 3rd attempt Novak will manage it.Lets see.Now I hope Rafa wins the crown and remains fit for the rest fo the season. The Rafa-Novak rivalry is what is keeping tennis exciting, and without Rafa around the toru has been too boring and one sided.Vamos Rafa the true champion

Totally agree, Rafa brings excitement back. Alas, how long! His body seems to have some problem or the other. He himself knows that his career can end abruptly any time. I just sincerely hope and pray that it's later than sooner. Then he can have a go at a few more GS titles.

Apologies to the Rafa fans.......

I have been one of Federer's biggest fans in the world.I still am.I could not digest the fact that Nadal would thump him time and again and Nadal fans here would celebrate that.So I used to post all kinds of stories beginning with doping allegations against Nadal, then a theory that Wimbledon changed its surface to help Nadal win there, etc. In fact the surface change statement made things worse for me as Rafa fans ridiculed me openly and made me laughing stock forcing me to leave the forum for a long time. Now I have realised that whatever I post it makes no difference to a great champion like Nadal.Whatever I say,he has nothing to prove to anybody, not in the least to me who is a nobody compared to legends like Nadal and Federer.Nadal has proved he is a total and true champion and great human being.I may post all kinds of drivel but the champ will just go on and win.I apologise to all the Rafa fans for insulting them and also for the insane stuff I posted.I also urge my co Federer fan and poster Vasantiben to please stop abusing people here thereby lowering the dignity fo Federer fans.Let us all enjoy the game.Vamos Rafa.

Vamos Ferrer
by Hari on Jun 08, 2013 10:02 AM  | Hide replies

I didnt like the way Ferrer was described as a vulture buzzing around and feeding off at lower level tournaments where top level players do not compete. He is a genuine threat to anyone in the top 4 and has grown in stature as he crossed 30, totally uncommon trait among top players. Ferrer kept on trying to break the glass ceiling and is reaping good rewards. Contrast that with equally good Davydenko and may be Nalbandian, both are sorry shadows of their top 3 selves once they crossed 30.

Nadal is my all time favorite player, but for this time atleast for sentimental reasons and the respect to the man than any, I will root for Ferrer to win in 5 sets.

Totally agreed.Ferrer is a very good player and probably is just playing in the wrong era...with Nole,Rafa and Murray around he's always falling short at the last hurdle. This time he has made it to the final...all best wishes to him.He is a very very good player and very tenacious.

Is an amzing player and if he can maintain fitness of Fedderer - he will easily surpass the number of grand slam titles and will then by Djokovic . After the finess problems which sidelined -Nadal the way he came back is amazing . At least the men's tennis is going great . Women the difference between number one and rest is huge hence it is not interesting -it is boring as times .Wishing Rafa all the best

Rafa, the fighter
by KLS Kumar on Jun 08, 2013 04:56 AM

I thought Novak will win the fifth set, not because he was playing better than Rafa, but because he is younger. BUT finally Rafa prevailed to win the decisive fifth set. My hearty 'congratulations' to him. As he predicted Novak will win French Open one day, may be next year.
