A good team is the one which plays to make its country proud, and so it should be with the political party.
Congress is playing to win for its own sake. Choose BJP for the country, support and follow
Sh. Narendra Modi @narendramodi with #NaMo4PM

nobbs in not the 4 th foriegn coach
by prakash prakash on Jul 10, 2013 11:00 AM

Ric charlesworth was not a coach but a technical adviser for Indian hockey recommended by FIH.
so it makes 3 foreign coaches.
I think Joachim carvaelo is mad this man failed india to qualify for olympics in 2008 and was so arrogant even to take advise from ric charlesworth who was technical advisor now criticizing about nobbs coaching method.

like michel nobbs , there was andrew medrith ,collin batch but nobody heard their names.but look what they have done to Belgium and Ireland hockey.
Michel nobbs before appointment was consultant for punjab hockey that why he was appointed by pargat sing now has been sacked.
problem lies in basic skills which we are lacking like wise passing and neat trapping, quick clearance from D by defenders and sharp counter attacks with controlled speed.
these are basics needed not those silky skills where we Indian think we can fool Europeans.
hard work by players can only help Indian hockey and not by any coaches.

Mock interview - new head coach Mr XYZ (Australian/German/Dutch)
by abc_xyz abc_xyz on Jul 09, 2013 10:49 PM  | Hide replies

Q. Hi, How are you doing and how is India ?
A. Oh I am doing good and India has always been a fantastic place to visit.

Q. What is your overall comment on the current state of Indian Hockey?
A. Well, Talent is abundant, but we need to convert that into results and thats why Iam here.

Q. You have been given contract till 2016 Rio games. What prospects do you see of India's chances there?
A. Our first and foremost goal is to qualify for the olympics. And let me tell you, it is not that easy. But I have plans in place to train our boys really hard for that. Once done, we will plan for olympics. Lets take 1 step at a time.

Q. India has a glorious past. What is lacking now?
A. TO be honest, modern hockey has changed a lot. With the introduction of astro-turfs, Europeans have taken over the top slots. But I am quite confident, with hard work and proper planning, India can comeback to glorious days. Again as I said, my style of coaching is very Indianised and I am looking forward to my tenure here.

Q. What steps need to be taken to improve our hockey?
A. First and foremost, a thorough and a transparent system of creating talents should be in place. I am working with various academies here to shortlist 30 probables for the national team. Once done, they should be trained in a scientific and modern way. Emphasis should be given to speed and agility that ball dribbing and skill. Short passes are the way to go. Let me assure you, you will find a change in the team soon.

Q. Final question, where do you see Indian hockey 5 yrs from now.
A. Let us not predict too much. At this state, it will take another 4-5 years to even get back to winning ways. Target should be GOLD at 2020 olympics. Realistically, we dont stand a chance at Rio games. Thanks.

2 years later ....Hockey India annoucement:

Coach Mr XYZ sacked due to below-par performance of the hockey team. A new coach hunt in on....

and the story continues........

(Botton Line - Future of Indian Hockey is destined to disaster. The problem is not with coach or talent, it is with the management. But we only change the team and coach and the management remains to do further damage)

Nikkamma Indians Never Open to Learn
by Bigtribe on Jul 09, 2013 07:05 PM  | Hide replies

1. People in authority are Nikkamma and trying to control
2. Never take responsibility by always blame...never open to lean fast.
3. Authorities as well as players are equally very lazy and never open to learn and adapt as per changing world Hockey standards.
4. Failure is only because of poor domestic tournament or promotions.
5. Authorities are clueless where in India to find the talents and future of Hockey.
