Milkha Singh won golds in the Asian Games and Commonwealth games. He managed to reach fourth in the Olympics.
This inspite of the fact that he lacked access to good coaching facilities or infrastructure or necessary financial resources that were there in developed nations, the athletes of which he defeated repeatedly at the commonwealth games.
Also he had to undergo the trauma of losing his parents and property at the partition riots.
He rose above all his harsh adversities, which would have defeated a lesser man, and succeeded in making a mark on the world.
