I am not a huge cricket fan, but delight whenever India wins.(Wc2011, no 1 ranking in tests etc.). And very often I have heard media talk about how we are a one-sport country, that we are not fit enough, dont have runners, swimmers, footballers etc. But after reading this, and looking at the history of so many athletes using steroids to bulk up and win medals, I think its time to appreciate that we were champions in a clean sport, where drugs come into the picture. Of course there is athleticism in cricket, but not to the point where players have to dope. Its great that we worship genuine heroes like Sachin, sehwag, Yuvi, Bhajji,virat and the likes who have reached the top through good old fashioned hard work, passion and commitment. And not by bending the laws. May they make our country proud even more, and its time the media stops pointing fingers at BCCI and other sports bodies.
