Selfish Gang of 11
by DEBABRATA DEY on Jan 13, 2013 08:11 PM

Somdev you are young but appear to be too smart and crooked. You are much more concerned about your own interest and not your country. This will not be tolerated by the people of India. AITA should take tough stand and suspend selfish gang of 11 who are not of the opinion that the interest of the country comes first. There are hundreds of patriots who sacrificed their life for the sake of their country only. I would request you (11) to play the Davis Cup tie with South Korea in the next month at Delhi.

Selfishness at its peak

Sans Leander Paes and to some extend Mahesh, none of these players are world class, none of them contributed anything to Indian Tennis. If someone like Leander who is the most successful tennis player in the history of Davis cup (yes, its true!) and an olimpic medal winner can give his 100% to the country without bothering about the finacial return, how could these 500 rank holders can think of revolt! India is anyway not going to play world group, with or without the likes of Somedev. So why bother about them, lets send the people who are available and keep these people away. Mahesh didn't learn from his mistake, what a shame he is letting his personal issue destry Indian tennis.

Even technically, players should be playing - they have no right to play the selectors. They want to be selectors, they want all the money - in return - what do they promise? Few years back, Ramesh Krsihnan and Leander Paes took India to the final of world group - can these people dream of such things in their wildest dreams?

WHAT HAS SOMDEV DONE FOR INDIAN TENNIS EXCEPT FOR A FEW MEDALS IN ASIAN AND CWG WHERE THE STANDARD IS NOT UPTO THE MARK.MAHESH'S CAREER IS OVER.AND IF YOU SEE THE INTERVIEW GIVEN BY SOMDEV,IT WAS AS IF HE HAS WON A FEW GRAND SLAMS AND INDIAN TENNIS WILL BE A BEGGAR WITHOUT HIM.JUST KICK HIM OUT OF THE SYSTEM FOREVER.YOUNG PLAYERS WILL LOOSE INITIALLY,BUT ATLEAST THEY WILL GET EXPERIENCE.

Who is at fault..??
by SR Hari on Jan 13, 2013 11:46 AM

Is it AITA or the players..?? who is at fault? While I understand there are problems in the administration of tennis in India (like that of Hockey), the protest should have been in different way. Are these players capable of survival on their own? Can they afford to jeopardise their tennis career? If so, let them go ahead, at least the future players would get benefited. If Mahesh is running the show (of protest), others should realise that Mahesh' career is almost over and he has nothing to loose by the revolt as against the youngsters whose careers will be problematic.

Let better sense prevail upon both sides.

Mr. Bhupathi and gang...time will prove you wrong.
As they say, first deserve, then demand.
Remember,Ramanathan Krishnan, Vijay Amritraj,Ramesh Krishnan,Leander Paes...the torch bearers of Indian tennis always put their country first before themselves. Also remember fans can be very unforgiving at times!

they all are gone now.now talk abt those who r present. They have right to demand ,tennis is not like cricket, which depends purely on luck like toss, pitch, ground etc.and they dont have cash rich tournaments like IPLs etc.I think tennis players and other sportmen deserve more respect and pay.specators of the country shud also give equal importance and go and watch tennis and other games too..cricket is making the ppl of country sick.

They make more than enough money from playing professional tennis tournaments. The money they get from national fed is peanuts compared to that. It is thus clearly an attempt by the schemeing Bhupati to launch a coup and take over indian tennis so as to serve his business interests!

Mahesh Bigbucks Bhupathi behind scenes
by Unapologetic Intellectual on Jan 13, 2013 12:21 AM  | Hide replies

Somdev is just a poster boy. Bhupathi is making all the moves behind the scenes.
All these poor players think they will make some money by associating w/ his sports promotion company, but look at what happenned to Bopanna.

Correct. If they lose the India tag, they will be back on streets. Everyone knows how much they earn by playing in tournaments and when they get out in round one.World class players can dictate but not these locals. If Sachin revolts, the country will revolt but if Dhinda revolts, who will care ?

IATA & Tennis players

IATA must not give in, Iata must fix up the ring leader Mr. Bhupati instead as soon as possible. India must not think about loosing the game without those trouble makers, the trouble makers will eventually melt into thin air

AITA is not a body with sage & saints. But revolting players must not be considered for aDavis cup against Korea, let I dia loose. Bhupathi is main culprit, nedd to be teaught a lesson.
