Tennis

Persons who are blaming aita that aita could not develop players must mind one true fact first and should not compare tennis with cricket or football in India. In a poor country in India common parent can not afford to allow children to play Tennis as it is too much costly game in comparison with other games. Children can play cricket and football anywhere with little cost but to play tennis court is required and it is not available everywhere and one have to spend approx. 30000( Good quality racquet-12000,String reel-5000, ball 150/ pc,net-.5000, Shoe-.3000,Grip-1500/set,Bag-6000) and there will be to much recurring cost of ball, shoe and racquet. How much cricket and football players were developed by bcci or ifa? All are self made. Also as tennis is not a popular game in India due to cost factor there are fewer sponsors to conduct tournaments. These young tennis players are demanding sky high but what is their performance in International tennis? Did they win any atp tournament? What is their performance in Devis cup? What they have done for India? In ioc, fifa ,itf, there are head who are not a sports person. What are the problems of players in it? These shameless players did not concentrate their game to prove them first and demanding sky high. Our legends like Amritraj, Ramesh, and Paes proved themselves many times but never beg like these players. Aita took the right decision to throw them and should not change the decision.

When administration becomes bigger than the players
by Arun Nayar on Jan 11, 2013 11:41 PM

Sports will suffer. The high-handedness of these Sports organizations have to change. First Hockey, now Tennis is being ruined by these so-called administrators who have no clue about the sports. All our tennis players are self-made, the least AITA can do is give them sufficient incentives!

AITA should suspend the 8 greedy revolting players immediately. Please stop all financial assistance from government. Suspend them to play any national game for 5 years. All sponsors should ban them.

It is AITA that needs to be taught a lesson for doing nothing for players or tennis. The body has failed to produce a single tennis player in last 20 yrs since Ramesh retired who appeared in top 100 of ATP ranking

wow what a solution, yes suspend all players and get more politicians and ppl who have no knowledge of tennis at all in AITA so they can decide future strategies.

Good to see that Bopanna and Co have not been picked for the next tie. Anyways they hardly have any inspirational performances till date. In fact its Paes who has been representing the nation in bigger tournaments and won accoloades for his performances right from Grand Slams to Olympics. It does not matter even if this new team losses to Korea but under Paes they will gain more experience in future. WIsh them Best Of Luck.

Great news

AITA needs these players more than they need AITA. These guys are now free to play whichever tournament they want and make money and travel . AITA is left to loose this tie..and have less income and keep crying. Nobody needs AITA now. These guys probably create a new tennis body and get the approval of ITF.

Well said buddy, anyways aita is bunch of folks who never picked up tennis racquet. Infact all sponsorship and encouragement comes from bhupati to young folks that is why they stand behind him. Chennai open where world's top 10 players come is organized by bhupati..what has aita done ?

Looks like you are cricket fan who has come here by mistake. What has aita done, they never picked up tennis racquet, they don't arrange any tournaments, they don't give sponsorship for ATP. It all comes from bhupathi including chennai open. So get a life and return back to cricket
