D. Goel Pkl. Morning8.40AM , Wednesday , february 13, 2013.
It isquite notunderstandable why IOC has dropped Wrestling from Games in future,if cuts andgore appear to be unnecessarily disgusting and appalling then many thins like Fencing or Punch boxing too should similarly be equally disgusting.
we ought to have uniform criterion for contests in Global Meets of IOCD. Goel

It is the right decision by the IOC

It is really a barbarian game and it should be played only by aborigins. It is pathetic to see the participants bleeding and staggering after getting all that punches on the face and head. I feel that the game should be banned totally as I feel it can be enjoyed only by criminals.

Extending your argument, we can ban the following:
boxing, fencing for violence
Equestrian for cruelty to horses
Cycling and athletics since it encourages doping
We can have olympics where each country does the flag march and goes back home!!
And btw, who told you wrestlers punch?

Take a file of sushil after he won the medal and see it for yourself. You wont be able to identify his face with blood marks, his eyes were swollen like a baloon. I dont know whether it is because of punches or was it something else, I dont know what you call it, but I name it as punch marks.

Agreed with Binu. I was also aghast to see Sushil's face after he won with all the blood marks.

European arrogance
by Gopinath Vakkada on Feb 12, 2013 09:41 PM  | Hide replies

I think the Europeans feel that they alone have the right to talk for the whole world. If wrestling is removed due to low TV veiwership/low popularity, then so should fencing, gymnastics, synchronised diving and many other sports here they dominate.

with its back on the ground or protest?

Is there any Indian Olympic committee existing?

Or whether Indian Government and its Olympic committee recommended the removal of wrestling
WHICH IS A SURE SHOT OF INDIANS TO BRING OLYMPIC MEDALS?

Sushil was also denied a Padma award recently!

Wrestling is a ultimate sport of Olympics. India, Iran and Central Asian countries bag medals. Even with basic facilities these countries have a long tradition.

Now the European dominated Olympic Committee... decides to drops it
