SAINA--TAI TZU GAMES, THE MATCH OF THE TOURNAMENT.
by damodaran mohan on Aug 28, 2013 05:25 PM

The Saina-Tai Tzu battle was easily the match of the tournament. We all know Saina's prowess but the way the young Tai Tzu was retrieving and returning Saina's barrage of smashes was awesome. We had not seen a defensive game of this level before and seemed to have unnerved Saina who was taken by surprise at the dogged defense. Saina in fact looked rattled and lost her rhythm briefly but managed to get back soon in the last game.It was anybody’s game which ultimately only the experienced Saina could have managed to win. Easily Tai-Tzu is the best foreign player in the IBL and we are going to hear lot more about the young player for sure in the coming days in the international badminton circuit. Saina-Shenk and Sindhu-Shenk duels were the other most exciting close matches. It is heartening to see Sindhu regain her confidence. The presence of world no1.,LeeCW‘s charming personality also added to IBL’s popularity and stature. The tournament ,first of its kind is certain to give the necessary exposure to our youngsters to compete with the best in the world and will go a long way in imroving standards of badminton in india. The near jam packed Halls at every venue marks real success of the inaugural version of IBL. Perhaps the timing of 8.00PM start could be earlier to say 7/6.00 pm for all round convenience avoiding late night finishes.
