Federer still has the game to win another grand slam title, provided the draw is also favorable to him.... though nadal has won a lot this year, including 3 masters title on hard courts, he can not be considered the favourite for the US open.. favourite has to be djoko, murray and del potro.

Sadly, your opinion will remain just your opinion and nothing more than that. Many agree that Rafa's sizzling hard court form this year makes him as much a favorite as Djoko or Murray, and definitely WAAAAAAAY more than Federer or Del Potro. This year he has already beaten Federer and Berdych (twice each),DelPo,Isner and Djoko (once each) convincingly on hard courts.

Nadal may be a favourite for many, but the favourite should be able to win it in the end... nadal will never win this year USOpen because for my prediction, i go by the records in the past hard court grand slams by that particular player... if nadal wins this year US Open, i'll stop coming to rediff forums.

Hi Rocky, Your analysis is quite different than the professionals analysis, i think they should take lessons from you.
Incredible run of results this season for Rafa.5 Masters 1000 titles already,a record he nwo shared with Novak Djokovic for most in a year.3 of them on hard courts-Indian Wells,Montreal and Cincy. He has now beaten Federer and Berdych(twice each), and Novak,Isner,DelPo(once each) on hard courts this year.Plus of course a record 8th French Open crown. All this after a 7 month injury lay off and playing most of the year with his knee taped. His only blip this year has been the 1st round shocker at Wimbledon.Of course the retards of the world like nashikghati, rockturd and vasantiben will moan and complain...but anyone with any tennis knowledge and aptitude will realise it has been a golden run for the champ,Rafa Nadal. He closed the argument that he was a unidimensional clay courter long ago.Now only someone with serious brain damage would say so.

Its long been accepted that Nadal is more than a clay court specialist. He only has to continue winning on hard courts like the US open and ATP world tour finals. Can you say Nadal is now the GOAT, I still can't accept it. He surely has to better Federer's GS titles record to become the greatest. The 'who is the greatest' argument is something which can't be ignored.

Guest....there are many well known dorks whom I mentioned...like rockyturd, vasantiban, nashikghati etc who keep crying that Nadal is a unidimensional clay courter. That's why I made it clear that anyone with an intellect, or even half a brain, knows that Nadal is way more than a claycourter.

hey dont use vulgar language... i've have been claiming nadal is only a clay court expert, because he has won only two grand slam on hard courts and has won majority of his titles on clay... but he has shown he is much better player than most on even hard courts. for comparison sake if you compare federer and nadal's exploits on hard courts, you will agree federer is a better player than nadal on hard courts.

So by your own warped 'logic',Federer has only won 1 grand slam on clay and therefore cannot be considered a good player on clay courts...and thereby cannot be the GOAT.

Rafa is as good a fav to win USO. This is his best chance. After 28 his game will decline like all other players. But don't see him win any 5-set slam other then FO now. Fav to win USO is Nov, Murr, Delpo
Way to go...now you are the World #2 and a win in US Open can potentially make you the Numero Uno! Just keep the momentum and take care of your knees. All the best, champ!
