PV Sindhu's comments are a tad immature. She has got to understand that it is tougher to stay at the top than reach the top. And she hasn't even reached that real top (I mean Top5 or so). She is just 18 and may be with age and experience, she will turn mature like her senior counterpart - Saina.
Really really pumped up to see so many stars coming up in badminton. Great that Sindhu is now at the 12th position and Saina is in the 4th. If Sindhu can break into the top 10, it will be a wonderful moment for India, having two women singles' players in the top 10. Kudos to the Indian Badminton Federation and to coaches who have set up academies like Prakash Padukone and Pullela Gopichand. It was Prakash who got Indians thinking about badminton seriously in the first place, a very graceful player himself and a great inspiration to the next crop which included Gopichand. They have done well by giving back to the sport (and making a living out of it as well).
It is good to know that badminton can be a career option if you manage to represent the country at the highest levels and perform. 15 lakhs for Sindhu's bronze will definitely be a great boost for her morale. Trust advertisements and endorsements will also come her way, they should.
Very happy to see different sports emerge as viable. There is enough space for different sports to survive and thrive in India. Looking forward to the IBL.
Sindhu- Saina match will be a great advertisement for badminton and hopefully inspire more talented Indians to take up the sport. Saina is a world class player and Sindhu is an upcoming talent with great potential. Should make for a cracker of a match. Hoping to see a fantastic contest between the two.
Sindhu's comments are totally un-necessary at this stage of her career. May be she shud take some leaves from Sachin's book. Humility is the hallmark of any person to achieve great heights. SAINA HAS ALWAYS HAD HER FEET IN THE GROUND DESPITE HER TREMENDOUS SUCCESS ALL ALONG IN HER CAREER.
One good performance has got Sindhu on the wrong track. It is a pity. Hope she realised the damage her one single statement has done to the sport in India. How come she has missed the point from the Leandeer-Bhupathi fiasco in Tennis??
Bad precedent indeed for upcoming youngsters looking up to their idols in India.

I totally agree with you. I am also glad that I have a supporter in you. Saina is a very well known person of stature in INDIA. She has a GREAT FAN FOLLOWING in INDIA and abroad. And Sindhu, who has just come out of her shell, makes UNNECESSARY comments. She should , in fact show respect for her elder INDIAN compatriot. That would have been - A REAL PLEASANT opening for a new champ who may tomorrow reign SUPREME and win laurels for India. Let us show HUMILITY first !!

Her IBL sponsorors or campaign mgrs might have advised/forced her to say so. But you are right that most new talents take time to learn how to handle an increased expectation. But lets all be a sport too and pardon this girl and hope badmtn wins over cricket.
I think ( I believe , I am right ! ) that Sindhu should look at the world as her competition. She has still to beat the main Chinese and Malaysian players. Is she belittling herself by saying " She is prepared to take on the challenge of SAINA. sHE SHOULD instead say " She is prepared to take on THE WORLD " How better it would have been, if she had said so !!!
