Always gives some reason for her defeats

Saina lost miserably to the much lower ranked Korean player in 2 straight games, in the second game she could muster only 9 points. Today the Korean girl was swamped in the semis by Xi the top seed from China 21-5 ; 21-11. Gopichand, Saina's coach has offered the excuse for Saina's poor show, saying she had an upset stomach. In 2013, Saina has not won a single event getting knocked out either in the QF,or even earlier, and always offering excuses that she had injured her ankle, had pain in the knee, upset stomach etc. She does not have any of these while participating in the ramp shows,or promotional events. Let us be frank and admit that Saina was extremely lucky to win the Olympic bronze as she had lost the first game and was trailing in the second one also, and fortunately got a walk over. However I think one would see Saina at her best in the forthcoming IBL,where she will get Rs 70 lakhs for 7 matches, provided her team reaches the finals. Otherwise it is curtains for her, Sindhu is our heroine of badminton.

I have no doubt both Saina and Sindhu has potential to keep the Indian flag high, however the little success they achieve, Indian brand endorsements run after them, shift their focus, these talented ladies then show more on TV eating, drinking and then finally getting thrown out in pre-quarter finals of any tournament.

It requires to be Sachin Tendulkar to keep the focus on the game for which they are known for and people expect them to see there and not on advertisement hoardings.
