Re: if he indeed took drugs

I don't think he has taken part in any sport since December 2012, when he started taking drugs.
Nothing could be more rubbish than this! Why the Punjab police is behind the valiant Olympian? I doubt he might have angered some politicians there - perhaps refusing to campaign for them - and then they unleash their doggs (police)

He is a valiant Olympian allright. But for taking part in Olympics, he should be allowed to do anything illegal? I dont understand why you are supporting him. If the police can conduct a test and prove this, he should be sent to jail like any other man.

Openionated cut let, I hope you know that people are innocent until proven guilty. a drug lords accusing finger does not carry more weight then a respected athlete.

Truth.. when it is evident, the sense of Northies and southies should not come to mind. What Deshpande told is absolutely right. Whey do they succumb to this type of pressure?
I think the law should be amended to allow suitable police authority use force to take blood, hair...etc for sampling purpose. How can a person use law to delay the process of justice shows the loop holes in the system. Why do the police authority need to go through all the paperwork just to get blood, hair samples is beyond my comprehension. Let's work to make the justice delivery system fast, effective and comprehensive. This is the bane of all the problems or the majority of them we are facing today.

Innocent until proven guilty, blood sample is a personal matter, you need a warrant to get it. he probably dissed some higher up in punjab police the most corrupt organization, hence the frame up.

Money, fame, girls, etc seem to gone to Vijendra's head.Hence this unjustifiable behavior. The fellow should clear his name fast by giving the hair and blood sample if he is clean.By his delaying tactics the people have already declared him guilty to taking heroin.
Vijendra should give full cooperation to the investigation team in their probe against him and if he is innocent , come out clean at the end of investigation. He should not allow people to the conclusion of his guilty mind for his non cooperation to the investigation team.Vijendras achievement for the country is far more superior and he has become a youth icon and every youth want to follow him. He should seriously think the matter and help the investigation to improve his image .

So tomorrow if your neighborhood drug dealer accuses you of taking drugs would you cooperate without a warrant?
People who waste no time in claiming our cricketers(who have brought glory to the nation-world cups, test ranking leaders etc) are overpaid and pull them down at every opportunity, and who cry out that other sportspersons are preferred, have been given fitting reply now looking at these news reports! Our cricketers, with the possible exception of kambli, never strayed away from the straight path. Despite making millions and featuring in ads, and despite achieving much much more than Vijender Singh. This shows that money and glamour can corrupt anyone, and we have numberous examples. Our hockey team failed to wina single game in olympics, and we are in the bottom rung in soccer, despite corporate support in the last decade. If other sports bodies and sportspersons learn from BCCI and cricket about lessons in professionalism, there would be less of such headlines and more of cheer

Cricketers need not be fit enough. They need not bend down and stop the ball, instead just escort the ball to the boundaries. They need not dope to win matches. They just need to pay the opposite team, for which they have plenty of cash.

1 case of boxer doesn't make entire sportsmen wrong! Indians need to back other sports as much as possible.

Dude, dont confuse two things.
Every field has its share of wrong dooers.
I guess you are not aware of Rahul Sharma and Wayne PArnell.
Having said that Vijender is definitely on the wrong side of the law.
Since u digress about the support being given to other sports, I guess you have no idea, the amount of money being pumped into cricket in comparison to other sports.
Little focus being given to badminton, and India is already in the world map in the sport.
