Indian sports are run by corrupt babus and politicians who can't even run 100 meters forget about playing tennis. They are there for money siphoning, furthering their political carreers, and not for the promotions of any game. Most don't even know abcd of sports.
These corrupt babus need to understand that they are NOT running some private schools. A player is the one who works hard to reach a position where he has reached at his own with association playing no role in their grooming or paying their training etc.
These indian babus can get away with these kind of nonsense because they are in a corrupt India. If they were in the US then the players will tell them to shove a banana in their ... -you know where, and get lost.

bottomline...throw Bhupati and Bopanna out of Indian tennis...let them go and play mixed doubles together for all we care! RIP
