Indian sports are run by corrupt babus and politicians who can't even run 100 meters forget about playing tennis. They are there for money siphoning, furthering their political carriers, and not for the promotions of any game. Most don't even know abcd of sports.
These corrupt babus need to understand that they are NOT running some private schools. A player is the one who works hard to reach a position where he has reached at his own with association playing no role in their grooming or paying their training etc.
These indian babus can get away with these kind of nonsense because they are in a corrupt India. If they were in the US then the players will tell them to show a banana in their ... -you know where, and get lost.
why not Paes also ? He playes the U.S Open when he was too traumatised to play Davis Cup.As for B & B they can in any case play ATP tour events as the ban is by the AITA whose writ doesn't run beyond the Davis Cup.
I am not a fan of Bhupathi or Bopanna, but AITA did not act correctly. They are bunch of fools and could not do anything before the olympics or Davis cup.
Basically - no body understands the fact that Paes is the one who ditched Bhupathi for personal gains in 2011 and played his game very well during the olympics fiasco.
Mahesh and Bopanna had come together for playing Olympics once Paes had ditched Bupathi.
Indian tennis wants to dance to the tunes of Paes and family. He didn't want to participate in Davis cup because he had some commitments ?
Let's be rational.. AITA should have taken disciplinary action on both..
Just search on AITA's president Khanna's father's tenure about 15 years back..
Unfortunately sports federations have become family business for many !

AITA had allowed open rebel and accepted the indiscipline a the cost of failure of nation in tennis at Olympics...you should have used these word b games....and should have expelled them when they chose personal ego over country.
It was not indiscipline. Mahesh and Boppanna have opened the eyes of the public. The arrogance and how some players like Paes are pampered by the Association is made public. Paes as a player is good but not fit to be a team man. He has no character. That's teh truth. Mahesh and Boppanna are still modest and good. They expressed their mind openly. No harm in that.
Why were Bhupathi and Bopanna banned after the young players did well in the Davis Cup? If they were banned before the Davis Cup tie, we would have appreciate AITA's stand. They just 'did not select' them for the just concluded Davis Cup. The two would have been brought back had the younger lot failed in Davis cup. When they succeeded, they showed their 'superiority' in banning the duo. Shame on you AITA.

BCCI needs to get lesson from AITA and get some bold decisions to kick out non performers & oldies.
