Becker Vs Lendl is no comparison, with all due respect to Lendl's talent and his record watching him was like watching a wii game.Becker in the other hand was the attacking, high risk, kamakazi type of player and was fun to watch. He was the ultimate fan favorite of many of us who grew up in the late 80s/90s.
No comparison between between Becker and Lendl. Lendl, more disciplined, hardworking, fitness freak. Becker more naturally talented and much younger (almost 8 yrs). I remember in those days media would hail Becker and claim Lendl to be a boring guy, which was unfair. In the end, if you see, Lendl had more career titles, more GS titles and finals. He reached the final of all 4 GS - 19 finals and won 8. He had 5 Masters as well. Becker had 6 titles but failed to cross the SF in French (only one SF). Of course he had a 5-1 edge over Lendl (3 of those wins came in Wimbledon). Lendl clinched the #1 ranking from McEnroe (only one yr older and on a roll in 1984-85) and held on for 3 yrs contimuously. Then he lost the #1 for just 20 weeks to Wilander and regained again to be #1 for another 1 1/2 yrs. Overall he held the record of being world #1 for 270 weeks before Pete Sampras bettered it to 286 weeks and now Federer has overtaken that. All this he managed in an era of Connors-Borg-McEnroe and later Wilander-Becker-Edberg. He definitely deserves more credit than what people, especially the media, give him.
Lendl as coach and there are similarities means Andy Murray WILL NEVER WIN Wimbledon. He already has U S Open in his pocket, he should change coach for Wimbledon victory !!

NEVER?
Had Wimbledon 2012 final not played indoors, Murray would have beaten Federer black and blue and won Wimbledon already like he did in Olympics, which was also played on the same court but outdoors.
Had Murray lost this title would the author have made similar random correlations? Nopes. He would have written songs of praises for the other winner. How easy it is to correlate things these days to fill in the pages of a portal. Well, thats the author’s job, so can't really bemoan that either.

Hello, how many French, US and Australian open did Lendl win????? Becker is way behind Lendl as a Versatile Tennis Player. Winning 3 Wimbledon will not make Becker an all time great.

Becker didn't win French Open;but he won 2 Australina open and 1 US Open title. He was a legend.and he leads 18-8 overall to Lendl in their career matches. He was a clear favourite than Lendl in their playing days !!Becker beat Lendl in all their Grand slam matches either at Wimbledon,Australian or US Open.Though Lendl won more titles than Becker overall.

But I agree that Lendl was a versatile player and had an all round game.He was No.1 for a long long time and Lendl-Becker-Edberg rivalry was at its peak in the late 80's which too was a glorious era in tennis.Though I always favoured Becker and Becker beat Lendl on many occasions ,but Lendl was a more disciplined guy and won many titles.Lendl too is a legend.

wat r u smoking? its 11-10 in lendl's favor over becker.
also lendl was world no 1 for over three years something becker ever was not.
they didn't meet much in slams actually outside wimbledon.
it is 1-1 at us open and 1-0 at aus to becker.but it does not mean becker is superior as sample is low and lendl's last peak year was 1989.becker was 8 yrs younger.

Lendl said: Grass is for cows but I am ready to chew my words if I win it. Later when it became elusive he said that he was ready to give away all titles for one Wimbledon. Although he had an outstanding clay (and hardcourt) record, he was ready to skip French Open in later years in order to prepare for Wimbledon! Unfortunately could not win. Best chance was in 1987 (he had played and won French and went to win US as well for a hatrick) when he beat Edberg in semis and lost to Pat Cash in the final.

CHUNJARU have you or your family ever won anything in tennis in the last 75 years?
'While there's no doubt that the Scot is more versatile as a player than the Czech-born American was during his time'. This is wrong. Lendl is one of the greatest players of all time and he is a great versatile player. He was the master in clay and excellent in hard & grass courts. Only thing is that he couldn't win Wimbledon after getting into 2 finals. Murray has to prove himself that he is a great versatile player like Lendl.
