The only 'true' Americans are the American Indians. Everyone else is an immigrant. Some recent, some not as recent, that's all.

Agassi - Iranian, dad represented Iran in Olympics, came to America and became Christian
McEnroe - definitely Irish
Connors -- may be Irish, most likely from British Isles
He was like Goran Ivonvich , hitting aces at will . He some how could not make up the last mile to be real great winner of slams .He was certainly a very good player ,perhaps best on US during this period of drought - after the great American Brigade.
Is it? I thought Venus and Serena Williams also play for the US of A, and won a couple of yellow metal discs for their country in the recently-concluded London olympics?
Is Andy Roddick being made to represent US tennis supremacy? Or US male tennis supremacy? Or US white tennis supremacy?
Whichever way, I don't think a true sportsman like Andy Roddick would be proud of any of these 'compliments'.
Grow up, rediff, beyond these petty sensational headlines.
All the best Andy... Tennis is poorer without a character that you are. A player who always had his heart out on his sleeves. Still cant get over the simple missed over-head backhand of yours against Roger in the second set tie-breaker in Wimbledon 2009. Had you won that point, it would have been 2-0 sets...and a different story. Still you can hold your head high buddy. I hope you would be around and I think mostly would be the Davis cup non-playing captain for US in the near future.. All the very best,,,cheers !!!''
