thank goodness
by Sachin Joshi on Oct 23, 2012 12:42 AM

this cheater has been shown his place. he should now be slapped with criminal charges and jailed for 100 years. that sort of punishment will stop people from doping and those who really work hard would get the rewards, fame and money which otherwise these dopers get.

Some facts about Armstrong and so called Livestrong Foundation
by Hari on Oct 22, 2012 08:59 PM  | Hide replies

For all the naive people out there who still thinks that the doper Armstrong is a saint when it comes to his work in Cancer Charity, they need to check their facts and brain
1) Since 2005, the so called Livestrong hasnt paid even a penny for cancer Research. Even in 1999-2005 period total payments for core research (testicular) was a measly 20m. (These figures were out in 2009 and predictably Amrstrong lawyers were after those journalists who digged out the facts)
2) Even discounting for PR expenses, pre 2005 levels Livestrong real constribution was just 45 cents per dollar collected, the rest went for marketing an PR expenses. Not a great way to spend someones elses money given with good intentions. Since 2005 it has improved but not upto mark as true of a real charity. (funds are siphoned off for self promotion)
3) IT is the real truth that Armstrong used Cancer survivorship as a shield to protect himself against any dopping allegations. (just check his cnned statements and live verbal spanking of Paul Kimmage prime example). It is also true that Livestrong and Armstrong are symbiotic and one's success is automatically others too.
4) Armstrong spent 6m on a Global cancer summit in 2009, on his comeback tour. The publicity it generated benefited (based on foundations money) Armstrong more than the cancer survivors. Real work need no hollering atop the roof tops to be recognised.
5)Armstrong has inked personal corporate deals based on Livestrong work, which is unethical.

Lance the Legend
by vasanth kumar on Oct 22, 2012 06:38 PM  | Hide replies

Lance Armstrong will always be strong enough to fight the system. He is a legend no matter what people say. If the system could not catch him during those 7 years then it is the mistake of the system and some foul play going on to defame him. He has won battle against cancer, he has won tour d france 7 times. he has proved himself many times. there is no need for him to prove again to some foolish people in the system. He was , he is and he will always remain as my hero. If the system and the officials are so much incapable of catching the athlets who use drugs during the event, then it is high time that all kind of drugs should be made legal. Let all of them take drugs and compete. let the best man win.

If sports hero keeps r_aping someone close to you for 8 years but doesnt get caught, and finally after those years evidence emerges of his misdeeds, will you say that since he didnt get caught all those years when he did the crimes, he will still remain a hero in your eyes?

Dude not getting caught all those years, is no reason to continue to eulogize him. His closest team mates have detailed the level of drug abuse that went on. Stop blindly worshipping people.

'Let all of them take drugs and compete. Let the best man win'

The two sentences together dont make sense. Chose one or the other, dude!

Dude, dont give foolish reasoning to defent what u want to say. Please understand what i am trying to say first. First you need to stop worshipping people blindly. If u admire someone u should admire for the right reasons. I admire him for his fighting spirit who even after surviving such deadly disease came back and trained and competed in such a prestegious and highly competitive event. whether he won or lost is secondary for me, whether u took drugs or not is secondary for me. even if he had not won even a single tour d france title he would still be my hero for his competing spirit. u are just trying to defend the wrong and improper system by making individuals like lance a scape goat. If he has taken drugs then he is not the only person who has taken drugs. Lot of his team mates who were healthy also took drugs and lost to a person who had suffered with cancer. a person who is clean and looses the title to some person who has taken drugs and then he is broken for the rest of his life and after many years u try to console him. what is the use? this is an international event and if they dont have a proper sofisticated system to find the culprits during the event or within couple of days or weeks, then they dont have any right to conduct such a prestegious event at all. this is not some annul sports conducted in ur school or kinder garden. Dont follow these practices of prasing and worshipping someone and taking him to top for some time and then dump him to dirt
