From the very beginning I was hopeful that India would squarely beat Pakistan. Lately, Pakistanis' performance has been very poor. They need a lot of vigorous training.
I am great fan of hockey but my local cable operator didn't switch the neo sport (only channel to telecast live) all bullshit cricket channel is there but no for hockey such a moren. even i dnt think anyone else pressed him to swtich neosport for hockey but if there is cricket neosport is always there so pathetic!!!
Only India falls from the top to the bottom...others tend to hover around the top once they hv been to the top. Colonial Britain went down, but still remained a G7 nation.
The difference between win and loss in hockey is marginal.
If really Indian team thinks of making a podium finish in olympics,it has to inject killer_instinct..everything or nothing..now or never..half hearted effort will not do..so there needs to be a serious effort..a medal in olympics will have cascading effect...rewards will come,sponsorship will increase,more boys will take up to sport as career..
I will just say to Indian hockey fans that hope for the best and prepare for the worst...our hockey team is highly unpredictable and inconsistent !

its too easy to sit on a couch in ac room and bla bla.. the players who r on the field knows how difficult is it to be an indian player. if u want a change then be a part of it... if u r too old to play hockey then bring ur kids into the game and show the predictability and consistency!

people like u dont do anything great in life.. just flow with the wind. and play sluggish sports called cricket that is mostly played by weak and corrupt sporting nations like india, pakistan, sri-lanka, bangladesh... a game that is not even qualified for olympics..
By winning this match after the shcok defeat yesterday against Argentina, will India get a chance for podium finish? Why not you people mention that also? I am sure you talk about various probabilities in the article.
When you have all the time in the world to talk about KP's retirement from ODI's why not about Indian Hockey?

We desrve what our mindset can take us to and it is like the frog in a well. China showed a different mindset to reap huge sporting success! We did not develop football, atheletics and such world recognized games. We do not have that vision. We are happy to be a ten nations' sports participant, that too not the best amongst these ten. And we cherish individual records more than the team result, a sign of immaturity of sports' understanding. Most of the windies islands have switched interest towards atheletics, baseball, basketball etc. Another reason for the downfall of football and hockey are the great (?) administrators- Munshi and Gill who are instumental for the downfall. We also can not expect our sports' media to pay attention to other sports as filthy rich BCCI and individual cricketers 'manage' them so well!
