Is like saying Bjorn Borg never won the Australian Open despite winning 5 Wimbledons.
Borg never won the US Open either... but Champions League medal is Australian open territory.
Basically nice to have - but if you have won the World Cup... who cares! Probably only Messi fans for obvious reasons. Even the Argentines booed the multiple Champions League medal winner on their own home ground. No Brasilian has booed Ronaldo despite the defeats to Zidane's France.

I take it back. My friend is right. Compared to World cup, Champions League medal is like comparing Wimbledon to an ATP 250 or ATP 500. event.
Or maybe an Olympic track final to some obscure athletic track event somewhere. Sure a record made there would count but a record plus gold at an Olympic final a la Usain Bolt is what the World cup is equivalent to. Well you get my point.....

Michael Ballack was injured and almost out of football league since last world cup. Although he currently plays for Bayer Leverkusen but hardly appeared in the matches :-(
