G8 win

A lesson for life to learn from Federer. Achieve all the stuff you can. Yet play the game every time, as if, to get your first trophy!

Well done Roger!

Very well done indeed! With other major contenders taken out by non-contenders, this should have been easy enough for Federer, but it was not. He had to fight tooth and nail for the title.
But Mithanis would have us believe that titles on Clay do not count. Or may be they do on blue clay.

So, you mean to say, madrid(ATP 1000) was played for fun and social gathering but not professional?? So called serious players could not adapt, as simple as that.

so now the excuse is that "other major contenders taken out by non-contenders." what happened to the excuse "the top 2 players will be in the finals". ofcourse you can't say it anymore since novak is no.1 and federer is no.2.
It should have been easy for nadal to beat verdasco too who was 13-0 against him. Nadal was actually winning the match before he choked big time. There goes your H2H argument down the drain. and don't put words in my mouth. just winning on clay (red clay to be exact) alone is not going to ENOUGH. There are indoor hard courts, outdoor hard courts and grass courts and Nadal's success is restricted on red clay only. and speaking of non-contenders, since the non-contenders beat out other major contenders then the non-contenders must be better than the major contenders. federer beat out the non-contenders so therefore he must be better than the major contenders.

The Amazing Federer!!!!!
by Seabiscuit on May 14, 2012 09:26 AM

Federer Excels on big blue. Great champions adapt to the situations. He showed everybody what a great champion he is. Rafa, Djoko bad luck. Will have wait for rome, to predict federer's chances at french open.

Great win

federer is just a couple of big tournament wins to regain his number one ranking. this blue clay has shown nadal is not comfortable on any surface except red clay.
