It is foolish on the part of the International Hockey Federation and the organisers of the Olympic Games to insist on the use of the blue turf after it has been proved by the injuries to the players as a result of slipping on the surface. Continuous changes in the playing surfaces from Astro Turf to polygrass and now blue turf has not done any thing good to the game of hockey. This kind of artificial surfaces besides resulting in wastage of funds in laying them can also result in ruining of the careers of the budding hockey players as a result of injuries sustained by them while playing on these surfaces which are not conducive to good hockey.

It is not a foolish move by Euros It is strategic move
When Indo-Pak dominated Hockey; the only way they found to eliminate this threat was to bring astro turf. Naturally, under-dev countries in 80s could not afford astro-turf and hockey in Ind-Pak suffered
Now India is picking steadily and now the threat for Euro looming. Now the blue turf to overcome India threat.
Strategy by Euros. I am sure they will keep changing to thrawt us.
"having failed to adapt" so they failed to beat Aus, Ger, GB because of the conditions. Or is it possible that India lost to three of the top four teams in the world that probably will win the olympics.

good India lost
Euros will be confident; India will plan. If India had beaten them, the Euros will ensure we have bad umpiring, bad stay, bad food, etc to ensure we loose.
