as for as madam sidhu is concerned there are so many rich lanlords / politicians in north in haryana punjab
who consider themselves royal and promoters of sports where r they cant they support this young lady by sparing some money from their ayyashi
haryana govt gave virender sehwag prime hand in ncr for sports academy which he promptly converted to a public school wonder how hunger for more money is never satisfied
India cannot afford sports in this century. Sport is a luxury which only developed nations can afford.. a poor country like ours has lots of other burning issues to be dealt with.. First and foremost we have to tackle the population explosion... Secondly education must be made compulsory not only in letter but also in spirit. No girl child should be forced into marriage b4 the age of 18 years.... Caste system needs to be abolished. The list can go on and on....
So sportspersons must realize that nearly 50 - 60 percent of our population cannot afford 2 square meals a day. Hence if they intend to represent India in any sporting activities they should be in a position to fend for themselves and not depend on government for everything. GoI has very many burning issues to tackle that sports will be the last thing on their minds....

This is negative approach. India is not poor country. Some Indians are super rich and most Indians are poor. Sports is the good medium to close the gap. At the same time it will add physical fitness and sportsmanship to Indians.
But the sports India encourage are chosen carefully. They should be Athletics, Swimming, Kabaddi, football, basketball..

why hv sports at all if it means wasteage of money? sports is a very essential part of human development and bcoz govt has not been taking interest we hv not been winning medals, here depite atheletes spending their own and when they win all ministers join bandwgon of artificial praise, why not encourage atheletes and sports persons so that they can perform and win. basic infrastructurew is not there starting from school, then again it is region wise selections, sports feds are heavily loaded with political supporters who know nothing abt the sport, how can our sports men win when it is not a level playing field? it is pathetic, when u see sports men in diff disciplines treated like ahoerd of cattle living in abs pathetic conditions, no nutrition, they hv to wotrk and then practice, compare it with other countries in europe even in asia like japan china, korea where players only concentrate on sport, here they travel 2nd class unreserved in trains substandard accomodations with misal pav, what do you expect and when shooters who spend their own money and win medals are still treated like this, it is shameful. only lip service.
