India will not win medal in Olympics unless....
by Jagdish Reddy on Mar 07, 2012 05:36 AM

Playing a sport like Cricket and winning the world cup is different from winning a medal in Hockey in Olympics. There are several reasons why India doesn't stand a chance.
First, the average height of Indians is much smaller than most countries all over the world. More than 60% of Indians live below poverty line making it more poor people in India than the entire continent of Africa. Stunting, which is not able to grow to proper height due to lack of proper diet while growing up is most widely spread all over the country. This can only change when overall economy of the country changes, corruption stops in public distribution system, change in eating habits such as a considerable change in the calorific value of the food intake right from an infant to adulthood.
How many of you are aware that the average height of Japanese citizens is up by 4 inches since 2nd world war when they introduced American school system of breakfast and lunch in their schools.
The average height of Indians is going down. The average calorific value of food intake of 50 indians is same as 1 person from most advanced countries. This is going to have affect.
For example, Sandeep is 6'4". Most americans are of that height. How many Sandeeps can you find in India? Same with football. You can not reach the football in case of the goal kick. That is why Indians are not winning.
It is really funny to see Indians still electing corrupt governments again and again. It is a sham democracy.

This team has the potential to upset strong teams at the Olympics. It depends on the group in which India will be placed in couple of months. All the best for the team for olympics and future tournments.
