Elsewhere on this page rightly there is a story about this young German side being remaining same. Actually the side lost not because of the team but because of the tactical mistake of the coach, Joachim Loew..The thumping win against Greece was a real red herring and JL became complacent. He over estimated his side against Italy and made the tactical mistake of going all out for early attacks to get quick Goals leaving gaping holes in the defence. JL somehow was not prepared for Italy's dangerous sudden counterattacks using accurate long passes as also he couldn't judge potential of Mario adequately who virtually tore apart the German defence. I am afraid it was all JL's mistakes who did not do his homework properly.

(contd.)...Actually the Germans lost the match within the first 30 minutes.With the unexpected score line of 0-2 down the Germans were shocked and completely demoralized. They just couldn't lift their gamre. Likes of Sweitzneiger... the German engines losing steam early.
It was a good match.There were some good saves from Neuer and Buffon,the later made some breathtaking saves (sure chances)Germany tried to attack more.Italy was very much concentrating on Keeping the ball with them.Germans they had a good run till now.Unfortunate for them.I am sure that this German side will come more strong in the coming years.
