An absolute farce this time. These teams cannot score goals in 120 min - and have to play in penalties. It is better to lose than win in penalties. Two consecutive matches were decided via penalties - it is not worth watching these matches.

EGGZACTLY FOOT BALL IS A TEAM GAME SHOW MAN RONALDO IS NOTHING WITHOUT SUPPORTING TEAM .WHAT HE ACHEIVED IN CLUB LEVEL WAS BECAUSE HE WAS ALWAYS WITH THE BEST AND HE NEVER DELEVERED WHEN IT MATTERED MOST SORRY FIGURE NOT EVEN GOT A CHANCE TO TAKE A PENALTY

you don't know what is football. did you see the england italy game...no goals till 120 minutes...and then a good penalty shootout...the game was not boring at all.

It was a pathetic game of football. What did you find absorbing about it? 1 thousand Italy attacks but no goals?
Another horrible final to watch. With Spain in it all you can expect is a million passes but no goals in 120 minutes... Since when has football become all about passes and ball possession. Football is all about goals, not 22 people running around in circles, no matter how technically brilliant it may be. Sad!!

It seems fools like Partha Das do not undersatnd simple basics of Football. If Football is all about only goals, then why does a foolish game like cricket is only about runs?? Have some sense before typing any sort of comments which have aboslutely no sense..

Yes, football is all about goals.Not if you are a Spanish or their supporter though. And yes cricket is all about runs and wickets. No one goes to a test match and sit for 5 days watching grass grow. Both football and cricket can be played beautifully, just that the Spanish cant do either. Now you tell me who is the bigger fool.

hi-goals cannot be scored if there is no team spirit/sense of togetherness/ball passing skills with precision-in these days of raw and brute power-a single player cannot bulldoze thro the defence and score at will-it has be a combination of sublime dribbling skills/passing/converting freekicks/penalty corners/individual artistry by players like pele/maradona/messi-imagine the latin american wizardy/spanish passing/german defence-magic-g.muralidhar

Spanish game has degraded due to two reasons - David Villa's absence and Xavi's poor performances. Xavi is playing way below his usual levels, Torres or anyone else cannot fill up that in the forward position. Negredo was pitched in yesterday but nobody was interested to set him up. All we saw was the two teams beating each other up not football. Spanish lack inspiration. Would like to see Germany win this one although am sure today's Italy vs Germany will be penalties as well.

All you need to realize is that they are playing to win the game and not to entertain you or anyone by scoring a zillion goals.
