I really dont mind these mediocre talent playing what they like, even though they are selectively playing doubles as its less competitive but lucrative going by "Indian standards". But why is the indian media givin so much importance to them its completely bizarre. If those players dont want to achieve anything higher in their lives(say play some singles matches), it doesn't mean we as a nation should lose track of whats important. Why can't we promote more players who want to build a singles career like novak, federer.
No Indian male or female has ever won the individual championships at Wimbledon ! Vijay Amritraj was once known as the ABC (A for Amritraj) of tennis but that was about as far as he could go. Leander Paes was a junior Wimbledon champ but never got anywhere in the men's singles ! One wonders if all that will change in the future after the likes of Paes, Bhupathi and Sania hang up their racquets......

Instead of sending these idiots to the Olympics, I think India should be prepared to sacrifice a few medals and not send a Tennis team. Look at Federer, Nadal and Djokovic. These 3 players have won everything that needs to be won, yet look at their humility. And look at our egoistic idiots. Can't even put their personal issues aside for their country. Who wants these "champions". Not me, at last.

All these years he has mentored & motivated so many lower ranked players by continuously reminding them of their lower ranks & refusing to play with them so that they can improve their rankings & qualify to play with him. He is a legend having reached the no ATP 1 position in singles many times. Sania is nothing because all the extremely intelligent respectable fellows in rediff msg boards say so.She should have no self respect & run to play with Paes as his personal fiefdom of AITA says so. He is also very decent & a little boy & does not say anything ...his father Vece speaks wise words all the time. Only they r Indian patriots because he plays with foreign players only 11 months in a year. His terrific doubles ranking is without the help of any foreign players.
