Pl give pinki due respect
by Debaprasad Dev on Jun 21, 2012 02:22 PM

It is shocking that Pinki Pramanik, the Asean Gold Medalist, the Pride of India is suspended. Indian Railway should not react to that extent to suspend her from her service, So long she is in trouble, railway should stand by her. What made her accused is mere private. It may be due to hormone disorder. She passed many medical test before various athletic event in national and international level. Pinki made india and definitely indian railway proud by wining Aseans athletics events and brought no less than gold. It seems both police men constable to IPS officers who are handling the case are not giving her due respect as a national and international sports star.
Dear police, please maintain privacy in Pinki's case. It seems pinki is victimised, otherwise what her room partner was doing in last 2yrs. Are These all to blackmail Pinki, her Athletic career and to spoil India's reputation and many hidden matters? Whatever the outcome of the medical test I express my sympathy for the Asean Gold Madalist Pinki Pramanik

Slow procedures

The athlete has been placed under judicial custody since on charges of being a male. The court has also ordered a medical test for gender determination. It is June 17 today and still it is nowhere mentioned whether the medical has been carried out or not. The allegations are very serious and that too against a prominent athlete who represents the country at the international level. How much time does it take to conduct a medical test? How can the authorities treat an athlete so shabbily? If there would have been even minor charges levelled against a cricketer a large hue and cry would have been raised by the media, public, even politician and actors would have jumped onto it by now and it would have become a monumental issues? Sports is not regarded as a full time activity in India and sportsmen have to find time for training and practice after or before working hours. How can India become a really good sports nation with the limited resources provided to sportsmen and treated so badly?
