Leander Paes i think greatest sportsperson India has ever produced. Greatest even than Sachin Tendulkar in terms of playing for the Country is concerned. Leander Paes always rises to the occassion when country was at stake he gives his best. He does not have ATP rankings to show in Singles, But in Davis Cup matches he beats even top 10. He won Bronze Medal in Atlanta Olympics beating number of top 20 players enroute. Nobody can forget the way he beat that time French top player Henri Leconte in Red Clay courts of Paris in the Semi-final of the Davis Cup. In my opinion he is Real Bharat Ratna. As far a Bhupathi concerned he is an NRI born and brought up in US.
And Paes know very well that if he Pair with low ranked Vishnu vardhan the pair will be out in first or second round. So there is no use in sending a team for the purpose of losing. Mahesh Bhupathi two years back instructed Sania Mirza not to pair with him in Mixed doubles in Grand Slams and even warned her that if she does not follow his instructions he will cancel his sponsorship. Incidentally, Sania Mirza, Rohan Bopanna are sponsored by Company owned by Bhupathis father. So you can all guess who is the real villain was.

Dude, just don't blabber emotional statements without knowing all that happened. Paes is a good player, agreed. But that doesn't make him a partiotic player.
Paes partnered with Bhupathi when it was convenient for him, in 2011. But broke his partnership at the beginning of 2012 so that he can remain a top 10 ranked player, despite knowing that this is Olympic year. Maintaining partnership with his countryman is the only way to win a medal. Paes was more concerned with his own personal career, so he partnered with Stephanek.
By calling Bhupathi an NRI, do you mean he is unpatriotic? Do you know the meaning of NRI? All Indian Tennis players live abroad. If Bhupathi was born in the US, he is automatically a US citizen. Why is he playing for India, instead of US? Think about it. After Paes broke partnership with him, Bhupathi could have partnered with any other international player for his benefit. But he chose to partner with his lower-ranked countryman Boopanna, aiming at a medal chance at Olympics. Boopanna also broke his extremely successful partnership with Qureshi, to partner with Bhupathi, aiming at the Olympics. If you have ever played Tennis, you'll know how important it to build a partnership, and how long it takes. Partnerships are not designer shirts, to remove and put on whenever you like, like what Paes and ITF guys are talking.
Now tell who the villain is ? And who is partiotic ?
anyone who knows a little bit of games understand that in the event of doubles team, the compatibility between the players is most important and whatever their individual ranking is,they are likely to loose the matches.Here we are talking about participation in Olympics where you require perfection of the highest order. How can Bhupati will play with Paes, with whom he is not even on talking term. Bhupati is very right in refusing to play with Paes.On top of that AITA is pairing Paes with Sania for mixed doubles in total disregard to the fact that very recently Bhupati and Sania won French Open Doubles championship ??
What Mahesh says is true. Leander has broken with him and paired with others( mostly foreignrs only) to earn laurels. This had happened many a time to be precise around four times. Where is hence the question of Mahesh pairing with Paes?? Back stabber that he is Mr Paes has to suffer and had no rights to talk of Mahesh.
It is better to drop both of them from the Indian Olympic squad for the sake of the country.AITA has succeeded in passing their message of "not to hope for a medal in this category for now" by selecting the yesteryear's legends who were quarreling each other.

True, enough of nonsense. Ban both of them for life. We don't want such selfish individual to play for India.
FIre of the Lord has been burning inside her even since she heard his voice and that she is carrying with her the burden of India from where needs to harvest millions of souls before reaching heaven. Going by her son's public and personal life it looks like she needs to first harvest his lost soul.
One can understand the anguish of Bhupathi on AITA.But, it is not good to see Bhupathi lashing out at respected co-player like Paes publicly. Paes has served the country many years, more than any other tennis players in India.

Why Paes is required for partnership,Bhupati don't want to play with him, give him another partner.Without willingness of a team reach to medal impossible.

This looks like Good solution . why not send two teams ! but if sania is getting wild card entry, anyway - Bhupathi will get chance to partner her and bopanna could partner paes in another case ! Bhupati and Bopanna dont have aukaad to lash out at AITA or Paes when they both are ranked below Paes and Paes is a Olympic medal winner already

It all started bcoz of a woman, apparently both of them liked or loved her well, they need to behave a bit mature now. Last Olympics for both of them. Grow up guys... its for India not for your egos or revenge.. or whatever... Please dont be kiddish...
