And that support comes in the form of outright purchasing of victories and records so that Golden boy can hawk more of their sub-standard wares and products.
Indian corporates have fine tuned the art of exploiting Indian hysteria.

If more people watch Olympics then more money TV station will make through ad's. Companies usually tend to use sports stars for advertising products. So it all starts from passion of common people...

Pride of olympic medal is global.
My prestige was saved by Abhinav Bindra when he won the gold medal beating a chinese in China in 2008 Beijing olympics.Somehow,I could say,that India also won one gold medal.
I can understand the feeling of Steel Tycoon L N Mittal,who could not find Indian atheletes in Athens_Olympics which made him sad and he vowed to turn the fortuned and started Mittal Foundation...
