Sandhu
by Das on Jul 31, 2012 01:24 PM  | Hide replies

Sandhu's media pronoucement "that extremely rare that a protest is accepted and the decision overturned," was untimely, unnecessary and defeatist. Further Indians have global reputation for being soft state who can be easily pushed around. Yesterday Japan's protest on gymnastic took them from 4th to second place, and number of other decisions are reversed.

Biased Umpiring
by U K on Jul 31, 2012 12:40 PM  | Hide replies

Sumit Sangwan fighting was far better than Brazilian Yamaguchi Falcao Florentino in yesterdays 81 kg. Boxing bout in second & third round even for layman watching the match. In close encounter decision going wrong way is understandable which was not the case in present one. This kind biased umpiring can bring disrepute to Olympic events which Olympic Committee may please take note of.

Yesterday in 81 kg. Boxing bout Sangwan was fighting better than Brazilian Boxer even for a layman who have watched fight. How can learned judges give a wrong decision where Sangwan was way a head against the Brazilian in second 7 third round. In a closely faught match decision going the wrong way is understandable which was not the case in present one. This kind of biased umpiring can only bring dis-repute to Olympic Games which Olympic Committee may please take note of.

How come the judo result was overturned yesterday in that case? The crowd protested when the Korean judoka won. The judges then reviewed and changed their decision in favour of the Japanese guy.

Maybe, we should have protested more vehemently, that would have helped.
