Not unexpected...
by abhisek bhaduri on Aug 01, 2012 07:10 AM

Bindra's result, though unfortunate was not unexpected...It has always been the case with Indian athletes that success gets on to their heads too soon...US or Chinese or other european athletes come year after year, perform year after year and win medals year after year...they don't start talking big or throwing around their weight after one win...I still remember when Bindra came back from Beiging, he was a young guy who has done the country proud...he should have concentrated more on his shooting and focused on how to improve..instead, the first thing he said was, "I want to open an academy and coach...."...in the next few months his interviews and statements were as if he is the best and most experienced authority in sports in the world... True, his achievement was immense, but that was a statement and attitude said and shown too soon and since then it was expected that he may very well slip in teh next major even and he did...I know a lot of people will not like this...but it is true...

Don't show your true indian colours.

Have some respect for our sportsmen.

Bindra not to blame
by kumar kn on Jul 31, 2012 06:42 PM  | Hide replies

Bindra not getting a medal is a disappointment for all Indians but he tried his best.It is unfortunate that it was not his day.In this sport the winner and loser is separated by just one point just as in the case of Gagan Narang.Every athlete goes to win a medal. All cannot do so on a particular day. There will be other occasions for Bindra.Let us congratulate him for all that he has done so far and will do in future. The only drawback with us is our Media and we build up too much expectations.Let us learn to take both wins and loses in our stride.
