India has never played to win against Netherlands, their game was full of mispasses, ball receiving was faulty and lost control over the match. Sandeep Singh's statement of scoring in every match has failed.

They could have done better

I would only rate their loss to their nervous start. I think it all happened coz of inexperience....secondly when they leveled the score they could have just step up instead of going for ball possession.
But overall Indian Team have to improve a lot on attacking front...I think Dutch have done really well by not giving Indian team any leeway in Penalty Corners. This is a headache for Indian Team coz their most potent weapon Sandeep didn't get a chance to have a shoot at the goal!!

The dutch were clearly much superior even if the goal difference is just one. they were strategically and tactically much richer and they organized their attack very well. even when they had the ball in their posession they were patient and passed well and had a good rhythm going, unlike the indians who were hasty and were looking to score anyhow, hoping to get lucky on the final touch from someone near the goal. having said that our second goal was very good...but for the most part india got a lot of work to do if they want to be on the podium.
This is good...

Decent start

It was a decent start to the Olympics for the Hockey team. It would have been better if they could draw. Hope the team will fight hard till the last second and raise their standard in the remaining matches and get a medal for the country. The journey to No.1 position in Hockey can start from there!

Good display

This was a good display from India today. Both teams played well, with India putting on a better show then expected. They will only get better from here.

How many penalty corner India has earned? Inability in every part of the match has resulted against India.

They can only dream of being on the podium. That dream will not materialize.
