yes, they did it by allowing 6 to 7 members using one toilet/bathroom in Olympics village? ;)
Unlike the awesome display of synchronized drumming and acrobatics from the Beijing games in 2008, that attempted to symbolize the entire Chinese industrial economy, there was no obvious talent or social organization in the London mob. The overwhelming feeling was of a desperate mediocrity. And it was boring. Those kids in their “crazy” costumes moving quickly through awkward and under-rehearsed dance moves to a potpourri of Brit hits were “celebratory” and “eccentric.” The giant house-as-telly playing the greatest moments of British TV and movies in center stage was just off-the-wall.

That should indeed come as a welcome change. A change away from the 'keeping-up-with-the-Joneses-syndrome' and 'one-upmanship' that have characterised every Olympics in the past three decades.
It would be greatly welcome for commoners of the host nations if their Olympics organising committees adopt the attitude of "We care little for spending money just to pretend to the world that we are greater than others; we will do it in our own way, with little pretensions and with little care for what others think about our unwillingness to go by precedents in celebration"!!

change your mind set as colour , creed, size and shape has no value in an Olympics. well done brittania!
A spectacular opening ceremony spoiled by a sub standard composition by AR Rahman yet again ! He messed up CW games too. People should stop overrating him.
Why do Indian mean wear pagdis in every games? Started in 1982 Asian Games. Why do they have to stereotype themselves? What next? A snake charmer and a rope?

rightly put across..we Indians love to project ourselves as a a tribal nation filled with beggars and tinker tanners..I am ashamed of my nation depiction in international arenas where people the world over get an lasting impression by the way we put ourselves...high time Delhi hindi wallas project our nation as an progressive one leaving behind our tribal vests, snake charmers, gypsies and chauffer like dresing styles..high time we set up an time frame where entire India gets an revamp.
India needs to have some dressing sense. are we fit for super power status?

how is 'super power' status connected to their attire here? the point is, do we have the 'deeds' for a super power status? either way unconnected to the olympics games, where everyone knows where india stands. little known countries achieve more medals than us.

'We' have left behind 'tribal vests, snake charmers, gypsies and chauffer like dresing styles'........and......................gone on to defecating in the open in such vast numbers (64 % of the population at the last count)!!

moreover, varghese, we both would agree it's the medals that count...let me know if you see any substantial input in it, except hockey thru the previous years. quit worrying about their attire, i say start worrying about their medal inputs, have you ever given a thought...'super power' status as you say...hmm?

We all Indians are JATS / GUJJARS / UP..ITES, hence the Paggar. The Nation loves to follow the most corrupt, uneducated, brigand communities to showcase itself to the world!

The color has been changed from safron to yellow. Given a chance very soon, congress will change safron color of Indian flag as well.

The colour 'yellow' symbolises us Indians very well : cowardly, hesitant in taking action, bystander to happenings, expecting the 'Sarkaar' to do everything rather than taking action ourselves, whining all the time.
