Stop glorifying these 'almosts'
by anand ganesh on Aug 04, 2012 09:47 AM

Milkha Singh only 'almost' won the medal in 1960. K.D.Jadhav actually won a bronze in wrestling in 1952 Olympics. But Milkha got more recognition while K.D.Jadhav got none. Thanks to glorifying the 'almost wons' at the cost of 'actually won' that India went medalless at three Olympics from 1988 to 1992. Now for last 5 Olympics, India has not returned medalless.

What a pity. After the tennis selection committee's tamasha, its time for our sports minister to devote his time to start a sporting programe rather than concentrating on filling his own pocket like the present UPA govt whose sole purpose in governing the country to try to get re-elected. Just look at CHINA. they have overtaken the mighty USA economy wise or sportswise.
