Gr8est ever
by Anuraug Rathor on Jul 21, 2012 12:07 PM

Federer is and will remain GOAT of tennis forever. He is 17-75 titles and still not done. Still fitter then his 5 yrs junior top players. His records cannot be broken just like SRT's cricket records. Federer will be known as Gr8est ever male to play tennis.

The 17th GS win by federer should be the final nail in the coffin for nadal and his supporters.

Now nadal win never have any chance of beating federer's records. He can only pull his underwear and make funny faces.

Ranking milestone

The record of most weeks as #1 was something many thought would not be broken by Federer. It is highly commendable that Federer had to fight the likes of Djokovic and Nadal and come on top. Now Federer's stay at the top can be guaranteed for quite sometime now.
Nadal seems to be a fish out of water when it comes to other courts except red clay. He was just lucky to win a couple of times at wimbledon. Nadal's days of running around the court is all but over. He might still reign at the Red clay courts.

287 WEEKS AND COUNTING.........THE GREATEST EVER
by HUSSAIN MITHANI on Jul 17, 2012 07:50 AM  | Hide replies

The Greatest Player of all time Roger Federer has crossed another milestone. Its another record in the tennis history books. Federer and records are nothing new. He has already piled up so many tennis records. It is impossible for any tennis player to come close to his records so you can forget about surpassing it.

Federer has crossed Pete sampras and now stands alone being no.1 for 287 weeks and counting. If he continues like this, 300th week is not far for the GOAT.

The top five players who have spend most weeks at NO.1 are:

1- Roger Federer 287 and counting
2- Pete Sampras 286
3- Ivan Lendl 270
4- Jimmy Connors 268
5- John McEnroe 170

As Sampras summed it up:
"The hardest thing to do in sports is the ability to stay on top. Roger has been able to do so by great play and durability."

17/7/1 will be remembered forever. Its not a date. Its when Roger Federer, at the age of 30, showed that HE IS THE GREATEST PLAYER OF ALL TIME.

17/7/1:
17th Grandslam: the most by any tennis player

7th Wimbledon: record tying with Pete and Roger can make it 8 next year.

NO.1 Ranking: All-time record for most weeks at NO.1

Other tennis players can keep playing catch up to ROGER FEDERER but they will fail as ROGER keeps creating more records that will stand the test of time.

THE LEGEND OF ALL LEGENDS, THE KING OF TENNIS, THE GREATEST EVER ROGER FEDERER.

With a player 5 years younger, who practically owns him on all types of surfaces except indoors, who has already won more Masters 1000 tournaments than Federer, and who is almost certain to surpass his number of Major tournaments won, following him at his heels, it is doubtful whether Federer is all that is being said about him.
He has been a great player, and his 17th Grand Slam victory, and a couple of weeks more at the top have not made him any greater.

Yes it has. He still has better head to head vs Nadal on grass and indoors. Your argument is still heavily skewed towards clay as if that is the only surface that matters. They are tied 5 -5 on hard courts. Also It is almost certain Nadal will fall short of Fed record as his knees will give way and plyers like Rosol will beat him. Also nadal has only got one more ATP 1000 tournament victory. Fed has more 500 and 250 tournment victories.
