Kalmadi can surely go as a private citizen. IOA may not make him a part of the official delegation to avoid embarrassment. So far so good. But let it be also known that no person is guilty unless proved otherwise. this is the basic tenet of law in our country and in all the civilised countries of the world. By that logic, Kalmadi has not yet been found guilty by the court and sentenced.

Dear Manas, it is not advisable to allow any person with such serious corrup[tion charges to visit overseeas.As he may do so to escape from the punishment.
It is highly disgusting the a Minister who has been charged with corruption of serious levels and had been jailed is allowed to visit London and that too,obviously, at the cost of public money.
This is UPA-II governments attitude towards criminals & culprits.
Where are Sonia, Rahul, MMS, Chiddu, Pranab, Diggi & party???

Right,This is the real face of UPA Govt..Just to quiet the people and media they had arrested with facilities in jail and later he was set free to further continue his corruption programme.

Kalmadi indulged in corruption because he was allowed to do so by the Sheela Dixit Govt of Delhi and the Centre.Did not the Congress and the Ministers know what was going on when the Media was pointing out the same daily? The govt of MMS is equally guilty.Now they are trying to pin all the corruption on only Kalmadi and escape.

He must have been told not to come back and escape like Anderson after the Bhopal gas tragedy and Quottrochin after Bofors.If he does not come back,he cannot implicate the Congress.Next you will find that Raja has also run away from India.End of story and welcome new corruption stories!
It is a shame to allow people to go abroad while they face serious allegations. It is not good for the country. What guarantee is there that he will come back.

Shame on India that Kalmadi is being allowed to go to London Olympics. It is really pathetic the way the Sports Minister is looking helpless.Actually court's permission is more of technical in nature in that it has permitted w/o applying any mind on the merit of the case in the absence of any missive from govt. or the sport body. Neither the court has sought any response either from the CBI/Govt. The fault lies with the govt., the sports minister and the IOA acting chief VK Malhotra. The silent connivance of the BJP stalwart is not a surprise at all because it is not just the Congress but even the BJP appears totally in Kalmadi’s pocket right from his appointment as the chief of CWG. Why Malhotra has not made any effort to remove Kalmadi from IOA so far or written to IOC ? Kalmadi in London can be a big distraction if not demoralizing for the Indian athletes and he must be stopped at all cost. Only hope now is the all powerful Sonia Gandhi stopping him .Or next, Rahulbaba who is tipped to enter the main stream political arena shortly can use this as an opportunity to show to the people by acting tough and that how he subscribes to ‘zero tolerance’ when it comes to corruption.

Courts in India are not repositories of all wisdom.An example is the way they have forced all car owners to have the sun screens removed causing great inconvenience.

How can a accused who has been jailed can be given permission to go and attend the London Olympic. I don't understand our Indian law. Why should an accused be given so much privilege. He should be kept in jail and shld not be allowed to go out till he completes his jail term. I think the judge who gave him the bail should also be put behind bars. He too must have received a bribe from Kalmadi

Shortly Kasab will apply for permission to go to Pakistan to attend the death anniversary of some relative and our Courts will oblige on humanitarian grounds! The human rights activists will also support him.
When Kalmadi represents India in the Olympics, the Gold medal should be given to the Indian Legal System.
The ingenious legal system has allowed a corrupt man like him to taunt over a Billion of its citizen. It is high time Indians discard this legal system and replace it.
Kalmadi a known tainted fellow who earned and helped others make crores should not be allowed to go to London Mr. PM , if we have scant feelings for our national prestige and self respect as a nation!!!!
