Instead of encouraging, our media is trying to bring the negative aspects to the fore, that at the behest of cricket lobby, which is an anti-national act.
Rather,I have a very positive feeling this time and expect India to bag lot of medals and stand among the top 20 in the final medal tally. The players who are expected to bring medals include:

Definitely, especially due to the patronage of Mittal Champions Trust and Olympic Gold Quest.Further, our sports minister Mr.Ajay Maken is doing a lot by providing foreign training to all atheletes...
You may remember,we topped CWG medal tally and we moved to sixth position from 12-13 position in the last Asian games.Hence, there is a basis for better result this time.Another factor is that London crowd will be like second home for Indian atheletes as british are our erstwhile kings and queens :).London is the best place outside India for Indians to perform in olympics..

lots of indians there, so that may help, plus more than the venue i believe we got better and stronger athletes this time. this may be our best olympics result in terms of medals.

also mary kom is an added hope, this is first time women's boxing is in oly. and people like ronjan_sodhi didn't miss out this time..

Yes,you are right.
Well,it all will depends on whom Mary Kom faces in semi finals if she reaches that stage. If she faces Nicola_Adams,she will have better chance to get into final. But if it is Beijing gold medalist Ren_Cancan,then it will be very difficult because ,51 kg is the natural category of Ren,whereas Mary has migrated from 47 to 51 kg category...

Why you are sooo nagitive man. hope this time we cross aleast 6. he leasted good name they are working hard to get result
Really sad that our hard working athlets had to face this ban. Their coach mixed these steriods in their food and hence the problem. Now, what abt the crooked politicians who scammed Lakhs of crores of INR? They still get respect, are wooed by their parties, fight elections and continue this sordid saga of scams.. No banning them?

well, Mr. 'holier than thou', many athletes from all over the world are making a comeback this olympics after having served bans, including the famous Gatlin in the sprint events. besides, i hope you know about the ben johnson saga at seoul or many such examples of high profile doping for sprinting events.

i agree to an extent about corruption in our country, but was pointing out the fallacy w.r.t sprint events. it just doesn't happen in india. btw, its not just 1 or 2 athletes, entire sprint teams have come under scanner , f.ex. jamaican team 3 years back..

its not that, if you research you may find examples from every country. i just gave you couple of high profile athletes. the lure of gaining that edge in photo finishes , or as venu says it could be ignorance..
