Its the time all four Siana/paes/mahesh and bopanna should introspect.Their recent comments showed their egoism and thats where their downtrend started.
They should apologise to nation for their behaviour and focus on Olympics now..

Nothing to worry.India sure to win a medal at olympics because:

None of the pairs who won in doubles can claim to contain 2 players from one country.

Paes_Stepanek :Indo_Czech pair lost to Croatia_Brazilian pair.

Mahesh_Bopanna : Indian pair lost to Russian_Uzbek pair.

The only known pairs that are doing well at_Wimbledon and belonging to same country are Rajeev_Ram/Scotts_Lipsky (both USA ) , Bob_Bryan/Mike Bryan (both USA),Arnold_Clement/Michael_Llodra(both France),Llyeton_Hewitt/Chris_Gluccione (both Australia),Steve/Olivier_(both Belgium).

So,Paes_Vardhan and Mahesh_Bopanna should properly study the games of the above pairs to thrash them in olympics.

In fact I preserve the gold for Brian brothers of USA,therefore,at most there is a possibility of silver or bronze, depending on whom the Indian pair will face in the semi_finals....

last year even Federer played in Olympics Mens doubles and won the trophy. Similarly, Nadal-Ferrer of spain, likewise many will join the bandwagon competition to win the medal for their country. Olympics wont be like normal Grandslams. Even top players participates in doubles as well as mixed doubles.

So its going to be tough luck for Hesh, Bops, paes, sania, etc. Also after the recent incidents, except Paes, i likes to see Hesh, sania to loose instead of win.

Sorry Sir Your analysis is wrong. Doubles looks easy in GS because FEDEX, DJOKER or NADAL dont play.
But they will all play in Olympics for medal. Last Olympics was won by Fed, so u can expect any one of the 3 to won...Forget Leander or Bhupathi they will trashed in first round.

With due respects to your comments, I beg to differ here. I just dont see any medal in tennis apart from mixed doubles silver or bronze. I would love to be proved wrong by these egoistic players, but going by the recent form and trends, it just may not happen.

Your analysis is absolutely INcorrect. Just have a look at last Olympic winners.

Plus these guys are no match for Brian Bros. who are playing for US. Apart from that FedEx, Joko and Rafa are getting in to doubles.

No chance in Mixed doubles as well, because Brian Bros thinking of tie up with Williams sis. and even Azarenka is thinking of getting into mixed doubles. and many more to come as it increases medal chances.

So, no medals from Tennis for sure.

don't worry bhupathi-bopanna will win olympic silver. bhupathi has full faith in this pairing when he said:

"An Olympic medal is the toughest thing to win for a professional athlete. It takes precise preparation and meticulous planning. Rohan and I have done that"

Same fate as Mahesh - Sania
by Kaipa Reddy on Jul 03, 2012 11:20 PM  | Hide replies

It's same fate as Mahesh-Sania, just one round extra. This is not to criticize either pair. It only goes to show that individual egos, whims and fancies should not come in the way of national honor. At least now, AITA, should put its foot down and tell the players to fall in line for the Olympics. Else, it will be disastrous. This is only possible with clean AITA and enormous public moral support. I doubt if the public has faith in AITA.

Mr Reddy, it does happen in sports,mahesh-sania came in the finals in aus open and won the title in French open just 6 wks ago.Wimbledon often shocks because of the transition from turf to grass. They are good but unlike cricket people hardly follows tennis and give encouregement
