federer just facing some psychological fear & low self confidence,(especially against Nadal) he can beat Djoko but not nadal.
best of luck to nadal for the final

AWESOME EFFORT BY ROGER
by HUSSAIN MITHANI on Jan 27, 2012 10:48 AM

its great to see roger compete so well at his age. I just can't see Nadal playing this well at the age of 30. This match was like watching the last year French final. Federer again had so many opportunites to beat Nadal. Federer at his peak level would not have missed the opportunities he got in this match. Age is a big factor. Federer is still the greatest ever. Novak is one happy man since he knows he will face Nadal in the final if he wins against Murry and not federer. Novak has a tough time beating federer but with Nadal, the scoreline says it all. Nadal fans better pray Murray beats Novak.

Any chance of moving a grand slam to London indoor courts?
by Another Critic on Jan 27, 2012 01:59 AM

Together with a conversion to three setters instead of five setters?

London indoor courts with three sets is the ideal for a grand slam. Hope they create a fifth grand slam or move one of the slams before Roger retires.

Fed was lucky as first set went into tie-break else it would have been a straight flush.

A change from the routine

This is a refreshing change from the routine cricket dished out by the Indians and always losing. The Indians seniors shld learn from Federer on how to keep fighting till the last.Fedex never gave up.

Great tennis doled out by the 2 best players in present day tennis.

Yeah. Reminds of the matches of Edberg-Becker and Connors-Mckenroe. They used to be battle of nerves.

Nadal, a True Champion
by Mind Releams on Jan 26, 2012 09:18 PM  | Hide replies

Yet again Rafa beats Federer to show the world who is the champion. No matter how many Grand Slams Federer wins, his inability to dominate his greatest rival Nadal will always find him standing one step below Rafa. I do not know if Rafa has a loosing record against any players currently active. I do know that if you want to be called a greatest tennis player of all time then you cannot have a loosing record against any player. 18-9 in favor of Nadal is an indication how dismal his record against Rafa. I think Federer has a loosing record against Murray also.

Hard luck Federer you will be the second best in the eyes of many.

Thanks :)

True, enough. Djokovic is too good to be beat. I'd say Rafa was lucky to get Federer in the last four. Fedex is making too many unforced errors and also losing out on age (see Djoker-Ferrer(29) match yesterday?)

True Nadal has proved to be a thorn in Federer's flesh. For Nadal, it is now Djokovic. With six losses in succession to Djoko, Nadal needs to put his best to win the championship

@David Coulthard and @raja r

Yup I hope Djokovic beats Rafa again. Last year Djokovic had completely dominated Rafa, but towards the end he was plagued by injuries. This year Rafa has looked quite strong and whether you believe it or not, that aura of invisibility which Djokovic has shown has diminished a little bit since last year. May be it is due to injuries.

In all the matches last year Djokovic has consistently attacked Rafa's backhand. I do not understand why Federer doesn't do the same.

Thanks :)

Well it is a foolish remark Mr.Mind Releams. You play your best when you are in prime of youth.Check this record 3 years back. Its a cycle for any sportsman unless they retire still young and going great guns. But then its a very personal call.I will look for you when Rafa will turn 30.It will be interesting to know your thoughts then.
