INDIAN DEFENSE LOOKS VERY VULNERABLE
by damodaran mohan on Feb 27, 2012 04:15 PM

It is really good that with India qualifying for the Olympics there is something for us back home to look for during the Olympics. Now Olympic will mean much more for us giving us more sense of participation. It was good to see India playing 'attacking' hockey after ages although it is still difficult to say how they would fare against better teams like Aus,Ger...etc. All credit to the coach M Nobbs and the players. One thing which stuck me was that the match against Poland and Canada were much tougher and they look better teams than France who surprisingly made it to the Final. In fact Polish defense was solid and was looking superior to ours, especially their GK.On the other hand Indian defense looks very vulnerable although the forwards seem to be combining well with short passes , Indian Hockey style.Perhaps next 3-4 months hard work will prepare Indian Hockey to put up a good show in the Olympics.

Congrats Indian team
by Rajan S on Feb 27, 2012 01:16 PM

Congragulations to the coach and the team for fighting against all odds to snatch a ticket to london. By saying that they had to fight against all odds, i meant the corrupt bosses who are running the game in the country, be it IHF or Hockey India. The suresh kalmadis and the sreenivasans are setting examples for more corrupt leaders to follow their path to filling their pockets at the expense of indian sports.
Though, we won by big margins against expectedly weaker teams their scorelines against canada and poland are reasons for concerm. We had to scrape through in the match against canada, who was the next higher rank team after india in the quallifiers

This Sports minister is a ridiculous guy cant get through BCCI under RTI which is a organistaion where politicians and business man make their black money white.
IPL not a game but a game with all filmstars and tv stars after the game.
Shame on Kangress cant issue red corner notice to Lalit Modi and bring him back from UK.
What for is this herditary party making India defunct run by some worthless lawyers and a PM who is powerless.
Incredible India and Incredible PM

Please get back our seniors like prabjot singh , rajpal singh, prabodh tirkey ,deepak thakur and kanwalpreet singh into the side of the olympics. These players can add to the Indian team and make it more stronger. I request the selectors to recall these players

If you need seniors why can't you go for four time Olympian Leslie Cladius( He is only 88) and Balbir Singh Sr. They are better option than the above mentioned players.
