Selection is india is a joke
by Ashish Verma on Feb 24, 2012 11:11 AM  | Hide replies

India is probably one of the few countries where selectors are mostly a bunch of idiots who have neither played the sport nor participated in any other capacity. As long as we will have business & political interests controlling the sports bodies, Indian sports will remain behind. Success stories in India are rarely because of the system...THEY ARE MOSTLY IN SPITE OF THE SYSTEM.

I fully agree with you or else hous could Rathore's name not shortlisted.May be the committee wants to favor a particular candidate instead of heeding to the coach;s advice. That's the way indian sports federations work and that is why there are no medals.

Civil Service is the root of all ills in India.
Politicos just patronizes these bad service-guys and pocket money through these services.
Baboos destroy and loot entire system and run a mafia culture all over.

Here again, the army is fighting against the babus who are dirty minded and want to score a point over the army at any cost. What else is the cause of his non-inclusion?

Sad!
by rohit chauhan on Feb 24, 2012 10:08 AM  | Hide replies

Rathore has been walked over by bureaucracy. Will be a slap on the face of selectors if Rathore takes part in some national competition and scores better than those rookies traveling to London.

Exactly, Similar scenes in almost every sports in India. One who speaks against the loopholes in the system faces the axe first. Dhanraj Pillay,Ashish Ballal ,Gagan Ajith Singh , Deepak Thakur, Prabhjoth singh-these all players career were ended by the federation bcoz they dared to speak openly ..
