Out of 6 medals 4 came from Haryana
That is very very very impressive

It is time for other states like Kerala and Punjab to think about it.

No Sir you are wrong. Here are the facts
2 Silver medallists:

1) Sushil Kumar is from DELHI(Najafgarh)

2) Vijay Kumar is from HIMACHAL PRADESH

4 Bronze Medalists

1)Mary Kom is from MANIPUR (Imphal)

2) Saina Nehwal is from ANDHRA PRADESH(Hyderabad)

3) Gagan Narang is from ANDHRA PRADESH (Hyderabad)

3) Yogeshwar Dutt is from HARYANA
(Bhainswal Kalan)

So the medals tally for India is thanks to the following states

1) AP (2)
2) HP (1)
3) DELHI (1)
4) HARYANA (1)
5) MANIPUR (1)

If you feel Saina and Gagan are from Haryana, well they migrated to Hyderabad as kids and they speak wonderful Telugu and Hyderabadi Hindi compared to Punjabi also. Hyderabad gave them world class support, experience of World's 1st Afro Asian Games and excellent infrastructure to practice and become great in their respective sport - Shooting and Badminton.

Thanks to AP Govt. Support, the Pullela Gopichand worldclass badminton academy helped shape Saina. Nothing to do with Haryana. Her home is Hyderabad and we are all proud of her as INDIAN 1st and Hydbadi also.

Also FYI please. Vijay Kumar the silver medallist also has a Hyderabadi hand in success. He was taught the art of ANAPANA meditation by a sports psychologist from Hyderabad Dr.John before the Olympics. This meditation helped Vijay Kumar concentrate on the target cutting out all the crowd noise and disturbance and hit the Target consistently with excellent concentration due to relaxed, meditative mind.

See China spends more than Rs.15,000 every year and train the children from age five onwards on various game. Compare our self and judge and decide how many even bronze medals one can get. India is getting medal because of personal efforts of individual. As a Country we do nothing. Only Kalmadi and Makan attending olympicn, nothing more.

Olympic Heroes
by NarasimhaSwamy TN on Aug 16, 2012 12:12 PM

In India whether in sports or any other field we have to struggle against all the odds to come up.Our olympic heroes have come a hard way on their own. They should be congradulated. Our Sports bureucrats cannot be given credit as their contribution is well below the mark with respect to the medal tally.
