Now we should focus on only individual games such as athletics, swimming, cycling etc., rather than team events (cricket and hockey). Then only we can get more medals. British PM said "no Indian dance, play sports" to his British people. In fact, it is a very good decision. Similarly whether our PM will ask "no British's laziest cricket, play other games" to our Indian citizens? I wonder whether this will happen?

Funny that Britain and Australia manage to do well at cricket, hockey AND individual sports like swimming, cycling and athletics then?

A small country like Denmark (which is probably 1/10th the size of Maharashtra) has got 800 hockey stadia. How many has India got? What is the investment in India's national sport? I am sure it must not be much. Else we wouldn't have been so pathetic (not just this year; we have been like this since many years). It feels so sad to see Dhanraj Pillay crying on national television at the pathetic state of Indian administration.

Coaches will not change the game our players are not good enough to play fast as the ecuropeans plays, the main difference is the stima which lacks in our players. It's the fault of the system.. changing the whole team ? what kind of solution is that ? It will not help. Need to get politics out of selection and also coaching.

well said, Shame on hockey squad. If u have the will, u can do.
Bharat Chetri is a natural born loser who is supporting the useless coach Michael Nobbs. The team lost badly because some of the rebel players who were top class were dropped by the Indian hockey federation selection committee in favor of players who were certified boot polishers. This policy was also supported by the coach. Hence, both the captain and the coach should be fired for incompetence and poor performance. It must be realized that with meager budgets which are at least an order of magnitude lower than those of African nations (not to mention US, UK, erstwhile USSR states, Warsaw-pact states), India is able to win medals in other sports. Indian athletes are indeed exceptional to win medals without top-class infra-structure or facilities. India will be an economic and scientific giant in the near future if it can reach these heights despite adversities. I know from experience that with significantly higher budgets (in orders of magnitudes), other countries find it difficult to beat India in chess and cricket. The moral of the story is that India should get rid of people with negative mind set.

India in cricket ?? India is currently 5th in Test ranking after two consecutive whitewashes in Aus and Eng (8-0). What do you say about that ?
how much cost it will take to build sports complex for government without corruption??
sports complex must include 2 tennis court,4 badminton court, standard swimming pool 50mt 8 lane, one football ground, 4 table tennis, 1 complete gym , 400mt track for athletics with middle area for events like javelin, high jump, long jump, boxing and wrestling ring, shooting and archery hall.
since india got approx 600 districts. if 1 sports complex cost 80 crores then 600x80= 48000 crores.
if this 48000 crores was invested for facilties all over india rather than hosting 70000crores CWG games than was it more useful ??

Yet another regional fanatic, giving merit a backseat. What is this crap about north/south/east/west. Look for talent, not the region. Also look at the medal winners this time.

In fact its so sad to even talk about it since we have been only living on past laurels like being 9 times olympic champs. Time has come to make large scale changes..
