only the poor get medals for india and the rich play cricket

Why is one in four of the world's malnourished children in India, when record harvests mean grain warehouses are stacked with sacks, slowly rotting away

if people are fed and nourished then they can think, which the netas of the great country do not want. If you can think then you will vote for the correct person. They like to see malnourished people, show then to IMF, World Bank etc. and beg them to give loans to India and stack the money for their future generations.

he is great -but..
by Dhantannan on Aug 10, 2012 10:43 AM

why does he always slow down in celebration mode towards the end.??
oddly his aim seems to only win the race and not create a record.
in 100m he was slow to start but still got gold,
in 200m he had perfect start, but slowed towards end.
the same was story in 100m in beijing. had he not slowed in end, he would created a WR unbeatable for centuries to come.

Indians to eat mud
by LOL on Aug 10, 2012 09:49 AM  | Hide replies

from Jamaica. All those who say that sports is not encouraged in India - Is Jamaica a great sports loving country with a lot of wealth and sponsorships? How could they produce world class athletes. India as a country has all kinds of races - aryans, dravidians, chinese and the like. There is so much in terms of strengths due to diversity across states. Its shameful that a country like Jamaica which is probably of same size as Orissa is bagging so many medals and India comes home empty handed.

Problem is, people like you and me only love to sit under AC room and make criticism about our fate, country, politician etc, But never take any challenge to rectify these problems or to do something really constructive and productive. The day we Indians do that, we’ll make a mark. But alas Olympics does not host any games for arm chair critics...LOL

Unbelievable race. Amazing talent and a true legend. Yohan Blake is not far from him and a future talent already waiting to create records.

I fully agree with the views of S Narain.

It is a shame on the bloody corrupt politicians of the country and particularly the persons holding high offices in the present Government. Even Gandhi family is linked with corruption alegations, however, all of them talk big. Shame on them!

I cannot agree with you more on this corruption part. The sporting bodies of India will have to be overhauled. Bring in young talents from rural areas, feed and train them. Ensure they have a future in sports. Cut down all politicians like Kalmadi, Sharad Pawar and other clowns from sporting bodies.

Surprisingly Bolt slowed down in his last 2-3 strides to blow kiss to the crowd. Had he pushed even little harder, definitely a new olympic record was possible yesterday. Sadly it was not to be and got missed out by 0.02seconds.

No. Not by 0.02 seconds. The World record is not 19.30. it is 19.19 which Bolt set at Berlin in 2009.
