Michael Kindo is absolutely correct

Michael Nobbs should be relieved of his job, and Michael Kindo is correct. Incompetent foreign coaches like Greg Chappell and Michael Nobbs do not do their job and the teams perform at abysmal levels. In the case of cricket, Tendulkar, Dravid and Ganguly had some political power and a lot of personal money to bolster their position and kick out the coach. The hockey players are financially at low levels, and the sub-standard white coaches are enabled by the Indian management to overpower the players. On the same token, Duncan Fletcher is a useless fat slob and is well below the levels of John Wright and Gary Kirsten in quality. When a team loses 8-0 in two tours, nobody in the right mind should continue with the coach. Had he been a colored man or an Indian, Duncan Fletcher would have been peromptorily sacked without any inquiry.

Bad choice

Nobbs is an Aussie and they are good professionals but they are not the right choices for Indian teams like Greg Chappel.

They try to impose their culture and work ethic on the team rather than try to work with players. Its impossible for players who have played their whole life in a certain way to adjust and change their style in a short time.

Also Aussie coaches tend to think their attitude and work ethic is better than Indians. So there is no mutual respect between players and coach for a good relationship and trust to grow.

Australian coaches are good for junior level and sub junior level. Indian coaches or coaches who learn to understand Indian psyche can only do well for Indian teams.

Having said that the team played very poorly and well below their expectations. Nobody can blame the coach alone for the disastrous performance.

Well, then, you need someone who does not behave like a authoritarian, and thinks "my way of highway". Better to get someone like they did for cricket in Wright or Kirsten. Soft spoken, possibly more easy going approach, will not try to achieve miracles in one day, but gradually chip away, improve morale and player bonding, and work with players without denting their egos.

If what u say is true, India team under Nobbs had no problem playing in Olympics qualifiers and beating other teams. They even did well in test series against SA etc.

The players are to be blamed. Nobbs brings back an attacking hockey and these players are not good enough.

No one can teach these stubborn players to play.. they repeat the same mistake again and again.. dont stick to game plan. This time hockey players dont have any excuse like no funding or any other reason.. Nobbs is the best hockey coach india can have..

Useless Associations
by VISHWAJEET PATKI on Aug 09, 2012 06:14 PM

Adding two negatives (associations) does not give a positive number. Dhanraj Pillay says that we do not need a foreign coach. Who is the world class coach in India? What did Indian coaches do in the last 40 years? Foreign coaches may take up assignment with some sense of commitment but Indian coaches only have job promotion and Dronacharya award in mind.
This game has reached the last leg of a dead end and legacy of this great game will become an epic and glory of the past.

Blame Players

Why is the coach targetted. Everybody had praise for Nobbs when we got selected for Olympics and then India reach London and start loosing all the matches. Is it like Nobbs has to teach them how to hold hockey sticks or teach them common sense.Nobbs for sure has given 100% commitment to this team. It is the our players who have let the team down and the associatins for sure due to politics and lastly former players should stop commenting after looses. They should share their views before the any major event.
