It has been noticed in these Olympics that all the sportsmen who have boasted and made the most noice, including Geeta Phogat, have proved to be just mediocre and not even made it beyond qualification rounds. All the four medal winners till date said very little and went about their job in a determuned and efficient manner.
There are 18 categories in wrestling and being a wrestling nation and hertigate of wrestlers we could have one at least some of the medals. But see where we are now.
You can react by making a promise to yourself that you will shape and nurse your child in such a way that he becomes an olympic gold medalist one day and brings honour for our nation.Go for gold...

You can react by not getting too emotional (either ways) and considering the facts. In the CWG, as you know, top countries like US, China are not there. Aus is there of course. Many of the boxers and shooters are now pretty good to do well in Asiads, CWG. But there is still a small gap between them and world class stage like Olympics. Atmost we could have got 2-3 more medals in Boxing and Shooting this Olympics. Their performances (boxers and shooters) were below par for sure. I think we still have one more medal than previous olympics, and hopes for 1-2 in wrestling. Lets hope that we continue to learn from mistakes and make progress even if they are small.

The blame is on the Indian attitude of giving undue importance to a game that does not interest most of the world. Cricket is a passive,slow,non-vigorous game like golf.So the major countries of the world don't give it any importance. The excessive passion of Indians for cricket projects India as a nation of lazy people.
Verbreek(the opponent who defeated Geeta) is in the final of the women's freestyle 55 kg wrestling event.. That means Geeta gets a chance to fight at the repechage..
