Winning gold is all the matters.
by srikant Iyer on Aug 08, 2012 07:09 PM

The media is making so much hype about bronze medals bringing inspiration in future to athletes. Then let me ask one question, what happened to weightlifting after India brought a bronze there in 2000 olympics. Its no where to be seen now.Winning gold is all that matters.Bronzes and silvers are of no much use.I would be rather satisfied if India just wins at least one gold at the end of this olympics or else it would be a total failure.

my deepest regret to my subject matter which can be answered only by our so called in charge of Olympics who cannot think beyond their own..

hope they realize their follies soon or satisfy their whims and wishes else we would end with no medals.

Its very difficult to get medal in shooting in this country as there are handfull ranges, weapons & ammo is costly.. import is restricted.. NRAI is difficult to deal with...Still ppl get medal in a very costly sport.. vijay comes from army which provided for him and he rest of lots come from super rich families

we're a country starved of medals so our athletes are super-happy even with a bronze. And the additional benefits they get like you said.
