even a small country can win, but India with billions cant even
by dotmoon dotmoon on Aug 09, 2012 02:54 PM

even a small country can win, but India with billions cant even win 1 gold. Look at Hungary, whole country population is less then Maharashtra, 6 gold, 2 silver, 4 bronze and 8 players reached till quarter finals. Shame on us the way we grow up and shame on our education system which makes us just study ( parrot ).

yes, such statements are covers for looser. People like Bolt, Blake, German Hockey team, Chinese sports association will never be satisfied just by participating. If winning is not in the sight, the players are mere spectators like audience which is the case of Indian Olympics team sadly.

I Dont think there was Dismissal Performance
With somany loosing in quarters of world championship
is a healthy sign of expected improvements in next
till last olympics most of them bowed out even before qualifying for the final rounds

I guess we also performed very bad in tennis. Tennis could have been a medal for India, however due to our players egoistic attitude and personal issues, India's tennis hopes were shattered.

shooters, boxers, archers were the most disspointing. hockey and athletics we knew that medal prospects were bleak. real surprise is vijay kumar, unfortunately others are getting more attention than him. lets hope we get a couple of medals in wrestling. If we get a gold it will be the icing on the cake.

I have been watching Olympics since 1988 Seoul.Since then,India has been doing very well.Atleast we are seeing India going through quarter finals /finals and in different sports categories.Previously it was only hockey and few 4*400 relay teams .Thats it.Since Beijing ,2008 ,things have improved a lot.

Sir, Agreed. But this is the Sixth Olympics since 1988. Given the opportunities, monies showered and media attention, the tally could have been improved by 40%.
Let's keep our fingers crossed.

hockey yes, we were all hopeful, now they have changed to artificial (which is more suitable to europeans) our hopes are dead..as for relay teams, only womens relay team (that too in asiatic & commonwealth) no mens / womens relay made their mark in olympics.
