India should not participate in team events.Players come from such diverse backgrounds that they rarely gel as a team at international level.Allow players to compete as individuals.Most of the boxers,shooters,archers ,tennis players are playing well as individuals.Secondly,sinec most players come from very poor economic conditions,once they win one two Asian or Commonwealth medals they gey a job,house,land etc.their motivation level comes down as their expectations are met.They lose the hunger for further success,they then use the Olympics as an excusrsion before retiring from international levels.Therefore,select players like Bindra,who is rich and does not really care where his Roti will come from.People may not like this comment.But this is the reality.

Kufrul... we are superpower in which field ? and you say whole world is afraid of . Afraid that we may win 11th place or 12th place in Olympics in 2012 ?
Unit in diversity ?
All the 3 medals won so far are individual medals only boss. Saina (badminton), Gagan (Shooting), Vijay (Shooting) and now Mary Kom (Boxing). Team of archers came back without medal. same with hockey team. Same with shooting team and also Rowing team.
Atlanta 1996 (Individual medal) Sydney 2000 (Individual medal) Athens 2004 (Individual medals only) Beijing 2008 (indidvidual medals only)
So where is this diversity and team work and all boss ?
The only real diversity and and "TEAM" etc.. for India is Cricket team (or) Kabaddi team (always World No.1 and Golden team). Hope they include cricket & kabaddi in Olympics in 2020 or 2024 atleast. Then India will get 2 'TEAM' sport medals.

hOw can u put kabbadi in the same light man. South asians only play kabbadi. I f u are the only player getting a gold is not a big thing

i agree, if we include india centric sports, cricket & kabaddi, we have a realistic hope of 2 more medals!
Our players are suitable to play in natural turf...not inj the west imposed artificial turf...Let other teams play in natural turf against india... Inidan olympic association is a spineless body to accept artificial turf...
Hockey federation is mainly responsible for this.They donot allow our players to take part in european club leagues where hockey is played in astroturfs..

if arrogant west imposes astro pitches like hockey india will lose heavily..fortunately our Cricket board is strong...
The ad where captain Bharat Chetri tells some members of the 1948 Olympic Gold winning team that 'We will get gold' appears funny now. Chetri is not even in the playing eleven now.

First kick out the bosses who don't understand the sport. Get ex players in to the administrations. We all know how the ace player dhanraj pillay was treated. This holds good for other sports too.

Earlier similar treatment was given to Dhanraj Pilay. There are many things which can be said about players but I feel The bosses who are occupying federation seats for more than decades should first be kicked. After all if players are responsible then federation bosses are more responsible for the loss
