there is one old phrase 'throw peanuts, get monkeys' our atheletics gets very little compared our cricketers are getting..the facilities are almost non extent...and above trining only start just 4-5months before olympics...in othern countries they through out the year..work hard..and the result shows..

I partly agree with you
but look at like this - India doesnt have sporting culture. Its little better in villages whwere children play for at least two hours on a ground. The country seriuosly lacks sporting infrastructure and sport motivation....
anyway to put things in perspective - Indian didnt win any indvidual medal between 1952 to 1992, we started winning from 1996 and looks like we'll return with max no. of medals this time....its a long way to go but things are improving.

everyone wants to participate and win..but manny factors like lack of facilities, encouragement, financial support, good coaches discourages the sportsmen..so qualifying is only for the lucky..others cAN WISH only..
thats the only fit for Indian hockey..they lost all the matches played so far..drag specialist sandeep, sardara all failed with conversion...now for the last one..
..In in November,2010,Vijender won the 2010 Asian Games shutting out Uzbek two time world champion Abbos_Atoev 7:0 in the final.Hope he can repeat his feat against Atoev once again and storm into final.
..On all probability it will be a smooth sailing for Mary Kom today and her main threats will start semi-final onwards where she is expected to meet world champion Nicola_Adams.
..Manavjit is virtually out.No chances for him.
..Hope Sanjiv/Gagan concentrate well in their event and donot misfire like many other shooters.
..Expecting Gowda to qualify for the finals although expecting a medal in discuss throw is a distant dream...

dream on sir. whatever medals that we have won till now is not based on consistent performance. they are rather flukes except for saina. nobody is capable of repeating their success. one best example is abhinav bindra. success should also come with repeatability. u can see how gagan narang has failed today. also see the other athletes. they are satisfied even to finish 7th or 8th. example is poonia. we are only projecting people who dont deserve any projection
